Determined to protect his sister, Jeremy makes a decision that will change everything. In the harsh reality of the present situation, Elena longs for simpler times when her parents, Grayson and Miranda, and her Aunt Jenna were still alive and her biggest concern was her relationship with Matt. Stefan and Damon leave Mystic Falls together on a mission, but soon split up when Elena needs one of them. Caroline and Tyler are forced to make a life-changing decision. Finally, Bonnie makes a secret deal that has heartbreaking consequences.

Sheriff Forbes delivers some disturbing news to Alaric and Elena about a recent murder. In the Salvatore brothers’ escalating quest to kill, Klaus Stefan turns to Bonnie and Abby (guest star Persia White), while Damon reaches out to an old acquaintance for help. Intent on a plan of his own, Klaus hosts a strange dinner party, where he reveals another story from his family’s violent past until an unexpected guest brings the party to an end. Meanwhile, Caroline is heartbroken when she is unable to stop a tragedy from unfolding.

However, when uninvited guests show up, it doesn’t take long for the evening to take a deadly turn.

Back in Mystic Falls, a frustrating new enemy pushes Damon (Ian Somerhalder) over the brink and he lashes out in a way that will have lasting consequences. Caroline (Candice Accola) struggles with her own emotional issues, even as she tries to help Elena (Nina Dobrev) face her feelings. Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) makes a brief but disturbing breakthrough with one of his ghostly visitors, leaving him more confused than ever.

Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) arrive in Chicago, where Stefan is reunited with a vampire (guest star Claire Holt, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS) who hasn’t really moved on from her interest in him decades earlier. In a flashback to Chicago in the 1920s, Stefan comes face-to-face with a shocking chapter from his wild past. After Damon (Ian Somerhalder) gets a tip on Stefan and Klaus’ whereabouts from an unexpected source, he and Elena (Nina Dobrev) follow their trail.

Klaus (Joseph Morgan) puts a plan in motion that will give him even more power, but even with the unwilling participation of werewolf Ray Sutton (guest star David Gallagher), things don’t go exactly as Klaus had planned. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Alaric (Matt Davis) reluctantly go along with Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) new strategy to find Stefan (Paul Wesley), leading Damon into a dangerous fight with an unexpected enemy. Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) turns to Matt (Zach Roerig) for help as he continues to try to understand what the ghosts from his past want from him. Unaware that Caroline (Candice Accola) is in need of his help, Tyler (Michael Trevino) faces an emotional confrontation with his mother (guest star Susan Walters, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS).

On the morning of Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) 18th birthday, Caroline (Candice Accola) is busy planning a party, but Elena is focused on searching for any clues that might help her discover where Stefan (Paul Wesley) is. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is also searching for Stefan, while trying to protect Elena and keep her from doing anything that would draw Klaus’ (Joseph Morgan) attention. Meanwhile, Klaus and Stefan are busy trailing a werewolf named Ray Sutton (guest star David Gallagher, “Super 8”). Now working at the Mystic Grill along with Matt (Zach Roerig), Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is struggling to understand why he keeps seeing the ghosts of Vicki (Kayla Ewell) and Anna (Malese Jow). Meanwhile, Alaric (Matt Davis) does his best to watch over Elena and Jeremy, while dealing with his grief over Jenna’s death.

MuchMusic is THE one-stop-shop for a monster line-up this fall with the thrilling premieres of highly-anticipated new series, and returning fan favourites.

September is off to a chilly start with the premiere of a killer new series, DEATH VALLEY (Sept. 6) exclusively on Much, the bewitching new drama THE SECRET CIRCLE (Sept. 16), and the return of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES (Sept. 16).

Speaking of wicked, more catty drama is set to unfold with the return of GOSSIP GIRL (Sept. 26) with all new episodes exclusively on Much.  

If that’s not enough to slay viewers, the bloody-good horror-comedy TODD & THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL(Sept. 6) makes its debut on MUCH. Honouring some frighteningly good Canadian musical talents is POLARIS MUSIC PRIZE 2011, (Sept. 19) streaming live exclusively on muchmusic.com, and airing on Much, Sept. 24.

Viewers can expect more thrilling programming in October with the premiere of SCARE TACTICS, a reality series hosted by Tracy Morgan and DEGRASSI fans can prep for Halloween with an all-new, one-hour spook-tacular special. Also returning is MuchOriginal series BORN TO BE.

DEATH VALLEY is the dark comedy that follows the cops that capture the monsters, and the camera crew that captures the cops. This ground-breaking series follows the horrific yet comedic exploits of the newly formed Undead Task Force (UTF), a division of the LAPD created to combat the emergence of monsters in the San Fernando Valley. TODD & THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL – **New Series**

The Book of Pure Evil is on the loose in the halls of Crowley High. The book is full of awesome power and the ability to make your deepest darkest dreams come true, but at a horrifying cost. Standing in the way between the end of the world and The Book of Pure Evil is one teenager named Todd. He’s flunking math, but he’ll save our asses, whether he likes it or not.

 

POLARIS MUSIC PRIZE 2011

Season three opens the door to learn more about Klaus and The Original Family as his motives for wanting Stefan on his side are finally revealed.  As Stefan sinks deeper into the dark side, Damon and Elena struggle with the guilt of their growing bond even as they work together to bring Stefan back from the edge.  The ghosts from Jeremy’s past have a powerful message they’re trying to deliver to him, not to mention the impact they’re having on his relationship with Bonnie. And as Caroline and Tyler grow closer, a war erupts between their families.

The teens have spoken and it seems The Vampire Diaries is the overwhelming TV favourite among the younger generation.

The sci-fi drama picked up a bunch of awards at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards, which were hosted by The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco.
