A recent Ipsos Reid survey* found that the majority (77%) of Canadians have never used a dating service, and many (26%) would not even consider seeking the help of one to aid their love life.
When Patti Stanger returns to SliceTM to rescue the dating impaired in the new season of The Millionaire Matchmaker on Saturday, January 8 at 5pm ET/2pm PT, Canadians will see what they’ve been missing.
In the fourth season, Patti brings her matchmaking expertise from L.A. to New York City, and learns that finding love in the Big Apple is more challenging than expected. She’s taking on some of her most difficult and over-the-top clients yet, including: Judith Regan, the queen of all media; Freddie Mitchell, ex-wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles; and Albie and Chris Manzo, the sons of Caroline from The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
When it comes to successful romantic matches, Canada also has regional variations according to Slice’s survey. Of those who have used a dating service in the past or are currently using one, Atlantic Canadians were most likely (76%) to have had a meaningful relationship with someone they met through a dating service, while Ontarians were the least likely (only 46%) and British Columbians only slightly more successful (53%).
Continuing to prove that maybe money can buy love, Patti Stanger gives her big-bucks clients complete transformations with the help of personal shoppers, dating coaches, and therapists, and then hand-picking their dates based on beauty and intelligence. In the same survey, 62% of Canadians agreed that money is at least somewhat important when it came to a potential romantic partner.
Patti Stanger’s bold, blunt approach to love is the unapologetic attitude that – love it or hate it – Slice viewers are drawn to. Aided by her team of determined staff, Destin Jude Pfaff, Chief Operating Officer, and Rachel Federoff, VP of Matching, Patti holds nothing back this season, and breaks out a few new tricks, including: a spy camera, lie detector test and a make-up specialist from Saturday Night Live.
