ListenerThe fourth season of The Listener is due to hit screens later this month after a smash hit third season last year.

May 29 will mark the return of the CTV series, which will travel to Vancouver for the first time in the season premiere.

With an impressive Season 3 average audience of 1.2 million viewers, The Listener has achieved year-over-year audience growth every year since it debuted in 2009.

The home-grown hit saw double-digit growth in Season 3 from Season 2 with A18-34 (+32%), A18-49 (+19%), and total viewers (+16%). Last season was also the drama’s most-watched premiere, finale, and overall audience on record for the series. Continue reading »

Toby (Craig Olejnik) and Michelle (Lauren Lee Smith) investigate a series of violent home invasions, which are being interrupted by a vigilante citizen dressed as a superhero.

Canadian TV production company Shaftesbury has locked in veteran screenwriter Peter Mohan until the end of 2013.

Mohan has signed a new production deal with Shaftesbury that will see him working exclusively for them.

He will continue to serve as showrunner on The Listener and develop and executive produce projects for Canadian networks.

Mohan is a veteran writer and producer of over 400 hours of dramatic content for both Canadian and American television. Continue reading »

CTV announced today full-season orders of its hit original dramas The Listener and Saving Hope as both series break mid-season for London 2012 this week.

The network ordered a 13-episode fourth season of international hit The Listener from Shaftesbury, and a 13-episode second season of this summer’s #1 drama Saving Hope from ICF Films/Entertainment One.

Both CTV original series have been attracting impressive audiences this summer. The third season of fan favourite The Listener is delivering its best performance yet with an average audience of 1.14 million viewers, up 14% over last season and up 28% over Season 1. Sergio Di Zio (FLASHPOINT) guest stars in this special episode of THE LISTENER. Magnus Elphrenson (Peter Outerbridge, REGENESIS) escapes prison again, Toby (Craig Olejnik) must help Michelle (Lauren Lee Smith) recapture him before the criminal mastermind seeks vengeance on his nemesis. Meanwhile, as Ryder (Arnold Pinnock) and Oz finish up with a patient at the hospital, Oz (Ennis Esmer) runs into his friend Spike (Sergio Di Zio,), a bomb specialist from the Strategic Response Unit, after getting stitches for a small war wound. When Spike’s uniform catches Sandy’s (Tara Spencer-Nairn) eye, Oz reminds her she should only have eyes for him.
