The Dog Whisperer

Beginning this week, National Geographic Channel, in partnership with Canada.com and Petsecure, kicked-off the ‘Cesar Millan LIVE Contest’, giving Dog Whisperer fans the opportunity to witness Cesar Millan’s talents first-hand at his upcoming live Canadian show.

Coinciding with the new sixth season of Dog Whisperer and Cesar Millan’s highly-anticipated inaugural Canadian tour, the ‘Cesar Millan LIVE Contest’ gives viewers the opportunity to win VIP tickets to his informative and hugely entertaining live show and one year of pet insurance, courtesy of Petsecure. 

Fans and dog lovers across Canada are encouraged to enter the ‘Cesar Millan LIVE Contest’ at www.canada.com/cesarmillan for the chance to win VIP tickets to this unique live event.

At each venue, Cesar reveals his secrets to happier, healthier relationships between humans and their canine companions.

Grand prize winners will be chosen from nine cities and will win a pair of VIP tickets to the live tour venue in their city, as well as one year of pet insurance from Petsecure. In addition, 100 secondary prizes will be drawn, consisting of regular admission tickets to the live tour venues.

It’s a dogs world on CANADA AM as Cesar Millan, dog whisperer extraordinaire, returns by popular demand. In this three-part series, Millan shows viewers how to fix some issues that dog owners face – from the canine crooks who steal food off the family dinner table to dogs who turn their daily walk into a fight to the finish.

Monday, September 27 – Cesar Millan introduces viewers to former rescue dog Tuna, a dogo argentine who has been caught in the act of stealing food off the kitchen table.  Cesar helps Tuna understand the world is not one big buffet.  Carey Mulligan’s breakout performance in the 2009 film An Education garnered her an Oscar nod.  CANADA AM’s Richard Crouse chats with Mulligan about her latest Hollywood turn in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Also, Canadian indie darling Lights performs on the CANADA AM soundstage.

Tuesday, September 28 – Higgins is an overprotective German Sheppard/Collie mix who can’t see another dog without barking.  Cesar works his magic in minutes to take the stress out of walk time. Also, retired hockey great Paul Henderson visits CANADA AM  with some  exciting news. CANADA AM also welcomes photographer and former model Nigel Barker. The AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL JUDGE shows viewers how to get glam with his new book, Beauty Equation.

Wednesday, September 29 – Dogs Ruby and Finnegan turn walk time into a tug of war.  Cesar shows you how to get your pups to behave.  CANADA AM chats with Terrence Howard. After lighting up the big screen with roles in hit films like Crash and Hustle and Flow, Howard talks about his latest role on hit TV series LAW & ORDER LOS ANGELES. CANADA AM talks to documentary filmmaker Davis Guggenheim about Waiting For Superman, a powerful doc that puts the spotlight on all that is wrong with the education system in the U.S. 

Thursday, September 30 – CTV and Free The Children team up to deliver WE DAY, the largest youth empowerment event of its kind, bringing together a line-up of world-class activists and entertainers to inspire systemic change. Free The Children founder and youth activist Craig Kielburger joins CANADA AM to talk about the event that will take place in three cities this year, reaching 36,000 student leaders at the events and millions more through the prime-time special that will air on CTV (broadcast details to be announced). Long before going green became part of the popular vernacular, Canada’s own David Suzuki has been at the forefront of environmental activism. Suzuki also joins CANADA AM in studio today.

Friday, September 1 –CANADA AM  welcomes contestants from SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA. Richard Crouse will be in with his movie picks of the week, and our Friday Panel gathers to talk about the hot topics of the week.
