What if the bedtime stories we heard as children turned out to be true? For Virginia, the terrifying tale of Little Red Riding Hood is not only true, but a part of her lineage in the exclusive Canadian premiere of RED, airing Saturday, October 30 at 8pm ET/PT and Sunday, October 31 at 7pm ET/PT on Showcase.

RED stars Felicia Day (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as Virginia “Red” Sullivan, the last descendant of the original Red Riding Hood.  Police Detective Virginia and her family have a long history of hunting werewolves, whose ancestors first stalked the original heroine. Returning home with fiancé and fellow detective Nathan (Kavan Smith; Stargate Atlantis), Virginia is forced to reveal her family’s heritage to him when the centuries-long battle with the werewolves reignites. Virginia, her family and Nathan must face-off with the werewolves in a final showdown to rid the town of the beasts once and for all.

RED also stars Stephen McHattie (Happy Town, 2012) as Gabriel, leader of the werewolf pack, Rosemary Dunsmore (Being Erica, The Orphan) as Red’s grandmother and David Reale (Queer as Folk) and Greg Bryk (Happy Town) as Red’s two brothers.

RED is the first in a series of classic fairy tale adaptions produced by Canwest in partnership with the SyFy Channel. RED is produced by Chesler/Perlmutter Productions in association with Angela Mancuso and Vesvius Production
