British Columbia’s film industry may not be as strong as in previous years but TV production is providing a welcome boost to the economy.

Numerous TV pilots shot in and around the Vancouver region have been picked up for series orders while and reality shows like The Real Housewives of Vancouver are financial successes.

“I think the overall outlook is very good in TV,” said BC Film Commissioner Susan Croome. “A lot of pilots were picked up.

“It’s a bit early to tell, but we do have some concerns about feature film activity after the current features are wrapped. We don’t know yet what the future holds in the feature film department.” Continue reading »

The hugely buzzed about two-hour event captured the country’s attention, achieving an unprecedented audience of 109,000 amongst A25-54, making it the highest-rated premiere in Slice’s history.*
