KristenBellKristen Bell has been added to the cast of Parks and Recreation.

Bell and Ben Schwartz will make guest appearances on the comedy series when it returns this fall.

Bell will join up with the series following production on the Veronica Mars movie, playing a “snooty city councilwoman from Pawnee rival Eagleton”.

Schwartz will reprise his role as Jean-Ralphio, a friend of Tom (Aziz Ansari).

 

AmyPoehlerAmy Poehler will be honoured at the Just For Laughs gala in Montreal next month.

The actress – best known for playing Leslie Knope in Parks and Recreation – will be given the ‘Comedy Person of the Year’ awards at the 2013 Just For Laughs ComedyPro conference gala.

Previous winners of the award include Chelsea Handler and Louis C.K..

Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz will be given the ‘Best Comedy Writer of the Year’ award at the gala while Kroll Show star Nick Kroll will receive the ‘Best Breakout Star’ gong. Continue reading »

JKSimmonsJK Simmons will make a guest appearance in Parks and Recreation.

The veteran actor will appear as the mayor of Ben Wyatt’s (Adam Scott) hometown of Partridge, MN in a March episode.

According to showrunner Mike Schur, the episode will centre on Leslie (Amy Poehler) and Ben returning to the town where the latter had been mayor before being unceremoniously dumped for his part in a bad business scheme.

Leslie (Amy Poehler) disapproves of April’s (Aubrey Plaza) plan to transform a lot into a dog park. Meanwhile, Ben (Adam Scott) gets roped into helping Tom (Aziz Ansari) launch his new business venture, and Andy (Chris Pratt) finds himself playing crime-scene investigator.

US vice president Joe Biden has been confirmed to be making a cameo appearance in Parks and Recreation.

Following his successful re-election beside Barack Obama for another four years, Biden will be seen in an episode of the show this month.

He will feature in a scene where Leslie (Amy Poehler) visits the White House.

Executive producer Michael Schur said: “[Leslie] has a lot of female heroes that cross party lines. She has a lot of social figures that she considers heroes, but the funniest hero is Joe Biden.
