As they approach the end of the year, the crew decides to spend Christmas in Quito, Ecuador, and New Years in the dodgy port city of Guayaquil. They meet some locals and join the crazy tradition of building effigies and blowing up last year’s old ways with fireworks in order to usher in the New Year. Watch as the streets light up in total chaos that rivals the firework festival of the Virgin.

Leaving the country behind, the crew anxiously moves southeast into the land of the Incas – Peru. The northern deserts prove to be some of the most uninhabitable places on the Earth. On their way, team leader Nick leads an excursion on a mountain trail only to encounter the biggest of road hazards – the Rock.

A frustrated team attempts to overcome this obstacle, resulting in near disaster for one of the crew. When they finally get through the mountains and arrive at Macchu Picchu, they soak in the majestic views and awe-inspiring architecture.

Things start to heat up for the team as they descend into the jungles of Costa Rica. Here they interact with Janine, a local girl who is creating her own wildlife rescue organization and pick beans with local farmers at a coffee plantation.

After bidding farewell to their new friends, the group heads farther south to the Panama border. Shortly afterwards, an unexpected incident ravages two tires and two wheels on the side of the Panamanian highway. Swarms of bugs and a heated argument later, the team gets their bearings and continues onto their crucial next stop – the dockyards at the Panama Canal.

Here the team can decompress, dine on sharks and wait for the vehicles to board their next ship.

Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT

Once the team crosses the border into Mexico they learn all about the people, the culture…and the tequila! Their Mexican escorts take them through some of the most dangerous ghettos of Mexico City only to encounter trouble of their own – car trouble.

With little time to waste, the team regroups and moves on to visit the ancient Aztec ruins of Teotihuacan. They soon butt heads and tempers flare as travel writer Rolf Potts loses his cool with the team.

After things settle down, the crew is back on track and ready to participate in the craziest firework festival the crew has ever seen – the procession of the Virgin in Nicaragua!

Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT

The first episode introduces the adventurers and sets them up with their home for the next one and a half years – four modified Land Rovers, complete with “bumper dumper” toilets.

After a day of off road 4 X 4 training to prepare them for the rugged terrain they’ll encounter on the road, the crew sets out to Las Vegas before the start of their adventure.

They quickly run into their first obstacle at the Mexican border – setting them a few days behind schedule. But will this setback impact their timelines for future destination points?
