With another series high audience last night, $#*! MY DAD SAYS is now the #1 new show of the Fall, averaging 2.21 million viewers Thursday nights on CTV*, wiping-out HAWAII FIVE-0 (1.95 million, Global/CBS).

CTV’s entire Thursday night went supernova when from 8-11 p.m., CTV’s lineup averaged 2.7 million viewers, with every program in primetime beating or tying season high overnight audiences. Also to note:

At 8 p.m., THE BIG BANG THEORY delivered a series high overnight audience of 3.41 million viewers. The only series on Canadian television to average more than 3 million viewers each week, THE BIG BANG THEORY now has delivered seven of the top 7 television broadcasts this season.

At 8:30 p.m., the number #1 new show of the Fall, $#*! MY DAD SAYS, retained 72% of THE BIG BANG THEORY audience, setting a new series high with 2.44 million viewers.

At 9 p.m., GREY’S ANATOMY grew by 14% from last week attracting 2.67 million viewers.

At 10 p.m., THE MENTALIST was once again the #1 drama of the night with 2.71 million viewers.

Henry (Jonathan Sadowski) takes matters into his own hands when Ed (William Shatner) refuses to allow a wireless Internet connection to be installed in the house. Meanwhile, Vince (Will Sasso) convinces Bonnie (Nicole Sullivan) to allow Ed, a retired doctor, to examine her breasts.

8:30pm – Thursday, October 28 on CTV

Meanwhile, Vince (Will Sasso) regrets asking Bonnie (Nicole Sullivan) to tell him all the juicy details about a previous relationship.

Canadians get an earful as the new half-hour comedy series $#*! MY DAD SAYS returns to CTV in its regular Thursday night timeslot beginning Oct. 21 at 8:30 p.m. ET on CTV (visit ctv.ca to confirm local broadcast times).

The hilarious new comedy airs immediately following Canada’s most-watched television program THE BIG BANG THEORY for a hilarious one-two Thursday night punch.

Based on the popular Twitter feed by Justin Halpern, $#*! MY DAD SAYS garnered 1.5 million viewers when it premiered on CTV in Canada on a special day and time on Sept. 26. In the U.S., it’s the #2 new comedy this Fall, just behind /A\’s MIKE & MOLLY*. Last week, 10.16 million viewers tuned in on CBS, helping $#*! MY DAD SAYS win its 8:30 p.m. timeslot nationally and with the key A18-49 and A25-54 demos **.

New episodes of $#*! MY DAD SAYS are available on demand following their television broadcast on the CTV Video Player at CTV.ca.

In this week’s new episode of $#*! MY DAD SAYS, entitled “Not Without My Jacket” (Thursday, Oct. 21 at 8:30 p.m. ET on CTV), Ed (William Shatner) tries to teach Henry (Jonathan Sadowski) a lesson about borrowing his clothes, however, his plan backfires when he inadvertently lends Henry’s jacket to a friend. Meanwhile, Vince (Will Sasso, MADTV) regrets asking Bonnie (Nicole Sullivan, SCRUBS) to tell him all the juicy details about a previous relationship.

8:00pm – Sunday, September 26 on CTV

After being laid off from his job writing for a men’s magazine, Henry (Jonathan Sadowski) moves in with his cranky, outspoken father, Ed (William Shatner). Meanwhile Henry’s older brother Vince (Canadian actor Will Sasso) attempts to convince their father to move.

Canadian networks spent up large at the recent network upfronts in Los Angeles, bringing back a swag of new shows for the upcoming season.

Global led the buying with major reboot series Hawaii Five-0 picked up from CBS and J.J. Abrams new series Undercovers bought from Warners.

The network also picked up Fox’s Texas oil drama Lonestar, Ride-Along and Raising Hope.

Meanwhile Citytv scored NBC’s The Event, which features Jason Ritter and Blair Underwood.

CTV purchased Tom Selleck vehicle Blue Bloods as well as The Defenders, whose cast includes Jerry O’Connell and Jim Belushi.

The network also gained Law & Order: Los Angeles to replace the now cancelled Law & Order.

A major buy for CTV was the new William Shatner sitcom $#*! My Dad Says, which is inspired by a real-life Twitter page. Also in the comedy genre, are Mike and Molly and Matthew Perry starrer Mr. Sunshine.

The networks will all announce their line-ups for the new season at the Canadian upfronts next week.
