MTV is launching a show based around Heidi Montag’s drastic change of appearance due to plastic surgery and the way media can influence the way we perceive beauty.

The series, entitled Heidi’s Face, will aim to educate viewers into the ways in which the media manipulates images and therefore give people unrealistic ideas of beauty.

Executive producer Lisa Stokoe said: “The results of the initiative surprised us all and truly highlight the need to educate young people about what really goes on behind the scenes to achieve the images of perfection presented in today’s media.”

The series will transform its male presenter into a woman using digital technology in order to highlight the fact that the audience can be tricked into believing something is real when it is not.

Stokoe said: “We wanted to demonstrate the influence of digital retouching technology and the final result certainly proves that even the most extreme changes can be achieved in just a matter of clicks! The stunt will support our in-house show Heidi’s Face and will indicate – in a fun, comical way – how unrealistic and unattainable these ideals of perfection are.”

MTV is embracing the power of Twitter in its latest reality series.

The network is launching a new reality show which will see eighteen contestants pit themselves against each other in an all-out war for online supremacy.

MTV is looking for a TJ or Twitter Jockey in the series who will have the gift of the gab in the online community. They will test their contestants by putting them through a series of online challenges in order to find the one who will contribute the most to MTV and its Twitter followers.

In a final episode, fans will pick the one who is the best and therefore lands a job at MTV covering important network events such as the Video Music Awards in September.

The winning TJ will be based in New York and gain a six-figure salary.
