Motive2British audiences will soon get to enjoy Canadian series Motive with news today that the series has been given its UK premiere date.

The Vancouver-shot series will begin airing on Thursday, June 13 on the Universal Channel.

The series began airing this week in the US on ABC, drawing 6.8 million total viewers.

ABC has begun screening the police procedural after it proved a success in its first season run on CTV, becoming the number one Canadian series premiere for 2012-13 upon release in February.

Bittenpreview640Space has given us the first look at their new original Canadian series Bitten.

Laura Vendervoort (Ted, Smallville) features alongside Greyston Holt (Durham County, Motive), Greg Bryk (Rookie Blue, Combat Hospital) and Paul Greene (Harry’s Law, The Client List) in the series, which centres on the only female werewolf in the world.

The series is due to hit screens in January 2014.

Motive640CTV has put a smile on the faces of Motive fans after announcing the Canadian crime drama will return or a second season.

The broadcaster announced the news today ahead of their Upfront Presentation, stating that 13 more episodes of the show will be made for the 2013/14 season.

Production is set to begin this summer. The announcement comes with just one episode remaining before MOTIVE’s first-season finale next Thursday, May 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV Mobile.

As of this week, the crime thriller will air on Thursday nights, joining Grey’s Anatomy in the CTV line-up.

The show trailed on the Super Bowl in overall numbers for the night.

The CTV crime drama will air in the US this year, confirms CTV president of programming and sports Phil King form NATPE.

“We are very happy to have ABC on board and thrilled that this fantastic new Canadian drama will have a North American audience,” said King. “CTV is very proud of our track record in developing and co-producing original Canadian content that continues to be seen around the world. Today’s announcement is a testament to the talent of Canada’s independent production community, Vancouver’s film and television community, and of, course Bell Media’s Independent Production team.”

The 13-episode series was shot in Vancouver and will premiere in Canada on Sunday, February 3.

CTV’s newest original Canadian production has scored a touchdown with the announcement today that the thrilling new scripted dramatic series Motive will premiere in the most coveted timeslot in prime time television – immediately following a hand-off from Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday, Feb. 3.

CTV announced today that Kristin Lehman, hot off the heels of her role in The Killing, has been cast as the lead of CTV’s crime drama Motive.

Additional principal casting has also been completed and production begins today, September 17 in Vancouver.

From acclaimed executive producer Daniel Cerone (The Mentalist, Dexter), CTV’s new original series will star Lehman (The Killing, The Sentinel) as the drama’s feisty lead detective Angie Flynn, a detective on a backwards chase for clues to a killer that has already been revealed to viewers.
