In between sketches, viewers go behind-the-scenes to get a first-hand look at the two misguided stars wrestle with their pride in their ongoing battle of “oneupsmanship.” Their war of wits takes off in the first episode as Michael and Michael fight for the attention of an intern who is writing an article about them for his high school newspaper. Hilarity ensues as Michael and Michael try to outperform each other at a college stand-up gig, play cupid with embarrassing results, and buy weed for their boss. And oh yeah, at some point during the popularity tug o’ war, Michael Ian Black goes on a mission to find out who threw dog poo at his door.
