Patricia Arquette stars, as well as directs, and Anjelica Huston (The Royal Tenenbaums) returns in the Emmy nominated role of Cynthia Keener, a private investigator who worked with Allison Dubois last season and is now serving time in prison for the murder of her daughter’s killer. Allison reaches out to Cynthia for help when she begins dreaming about a young woman, Bethany (Rumer Willis The House Bunny), who years earlier was a kidnap victim rescued by Cynthia.

He soon learns, however, that Allison’s spirit has found its way into the body of a middle-aged man, Todd Emory (guest star Jeffrey Tambor, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT), who insists on living with him and the children as though nothing has changed.

Allison (Emmy winner Patricia Arquette) is distraught about the contract she signed at her new job, which forbids her from sharing her dreams with anyone outside the company. Convinced that her dreams hold clues that will lead to the capture of a serial killer who is terrorizing Phoenix, Allison must decide whether or not to violate her contract and aide police, despite warnings from her employer (guest star David Morse) that if she does so, she and her family will be sued for everything they have. Meanwhile, Ariel (Sofia Vassilieva) comes to realize that the anti-anxiety medication she is taking may prevent her from being able to save a young teacher whose life appears to be in peril.

Allison (Emmy winner Patricia Arquette) meets Caitlyn Lynch (guest star Tracy Pollan, “Natalee Holloway”), a psychic who works for the multi-national Lydecker Corporation, and is recruited to work for them, leaving her job at the DA’s office. Allison struggles with her quick departure from the DA’s office and can’t stop dreaming about a serial killer on a rampage in Phoenix. When Allison continues to share her dreams with Devalos (Miguel Sandoval) and Scanlon (David Cubitt), it proves to be a conflict of interest for her new boss, Mr. Lydecker, (guest star David Morse, “John Adams”) who makes it clear her dreams now belong to him and she can share them with no one else. Meanwhile, Ariel (Sofia Vassilieva) begins taking pills in order to stop her visions of a young girl’s ghost and to help her focus on PSAT preparation.

Meanwhile, Joe (Jake Weber) tries to use Marie’s (Madison and Miranda Carabello) new gift of picking the right stock as a way to save his company.

Meanwhile, Joe’s (Jake Weber) sister, Sarah (guest star Amanda Detmer, (What About Brian) shows up unexpectedly, looking for a place to stay as her marriage falls apart.
