After conducting a nationwide search, 100 of the best amateur cooks in America including a police officer, an interior designer, a professional poker player, a classical pianist and a tattoo shop owner put their culinary skills to the test to become the next MASTERCHEF. Competing for a life-changing grand prize, the hopefuls will prepare their signature dishes and present them to judges Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich, and Graham Elliot.

8:00pm – Wednesday, September 15 on CTV

After enduring a series of intense pressure tests and grueling challenges, the moment has finally come for one MASTERCHEF contestant to claim the title of America’s Best Home Cook. In the season finale, the judges determine which amateur cook has the potential to transform their culinary dreams into reality. The contestants who have made it this far in the competition have earned the judges’ respect, but only one will walk away with $250,000 and a cookbook-publishing deal and embark on a life-changing journey.

MasterChef, the newest reality cooking show to hit Canadian screens, has been given a second season by Fox.

The Gordon Ramsay-starring series will return next year for another round in order to gift another cookbook deal and cash prize to an amateur chef.

“It’s amazing and refreshing to see how much passion and raw talent there is from amateur home cooks across America. It’s extraordinary the amount of energy and excitement the show brought in season one, and I’m thrilled to be back at Fox for a second season,” said Ramsay.

Fox’s Mike Darnell has only praise for Ramsay and the MasterChef team.

“Gordon Ramsay is an incredible talent and the biggest culinary star on television today, so we’re very happy to have Gordon and MasterChef back for another season on Fox.

“MasterChef has resonated with viewers this summer, and we look forward to seeing where Gordon takes the show in season two.”

The first season is currently screening on CTV.

The Top 14 contestants enter the MASTERCHEF kitchen for the first time and begin a journey that will change their lives.
