Turn off the video games, slap on some Old Spice and grab manhood by the horns with the new half-hour comedy MAN UP!, airing Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET, beginning Oct. 18 on CTV Two (visit ctv.ca/two to confirm local broadcast times).
Starring Mather Zickel (The Cape), Dan Fogler (Take Me Home Tonight) and Christopher Moynihan (100 Questions), three best friends attempt to navigate their roles as husbands, fathers, ex-boyfriends and ex-husbands to finally grow up and become the men they’ve always wanted to be.
So what does it really mean be a man these days? And how does a guy know when his sense of manhood is at stake? In anticipation of the series debut, MAN UP! offers today’s modern man a few clues that it might be time to “man up”.
This behaviour might set off a few alarm bells, but tapping into the core of being a man these days is no simple feat and the guys of MAN UP! are comedic proof. In the vein of The Hangover, MAN UP! highlights how three average guys manhood measures up in a world of Axe ads and manscaping.
Written, executive produced and starring Christopher Moynihan (100 Questions), MAN UP! also stars Teri Polo (Meet the Fockers) and Amanda Detmer (PRIVATE PRACTICE).
In the series premiere (Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 8:30 p.m. ET on CTV Two), Will (Zickel) is more interested in finding the perfect gift for his son Nathan’s (Jake Johnson, Talladega Nights) 13th birthday than in doing his job selling insurance. His brother-in-law, Kenny (Fogler), hopelessly attempts to suppress his anger when his ex-wife, Brenda (Detmer), starts seeing a guy who is everything he’s not and much better looking (Henry Simmons, NYPD BLUE). Will’s best friend, sensitive soul Craig (Moynihan), still pines for his college ex, Lisa, and after crashing her wedding to try to win her back, the three friends are faced with a perfect opportunity to “man up” and be like their forefathers.
MAN UP! is executive produced by Christopher Moynihan, Victor Fresco (BETTER OFF TED), and Ron West and Kelly Kulchak of Tagline Television.
