Banished from a polygamist sect, a teenage boy finds himself alone in New York City when his older brother disappears and is then found brutally murdered. The case leads Lieutenant Anita Van Buren and Detectives Lupo and Bernard to the church’s controversial leader, Landon Wyatt (guest star Colm Meaney, LIFE ON MARS), who is in pursuit of his teenage runaway wife, Michelle Landon (Guest Star Jenna Malone, Into the Wild). While Detectives investigate further, they discover a romantic relationship between Michelle and the victim.

The 19th season of LAW & ORDER joins CTV’s Tuesday night prime-time schedule at 9 p.m. ET tonight before settling into its regular Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET time slot beginning November 11 –

In the season premiere of LAW & ORDER, entitled “Rumble” (Tuesday, November 4 at 9 p.m. ET), a stockbroker is beaten to death in broad daylight, causing a “rumble” of epic proportions between the victim’s family and the faction responsible for his death. The new season of LAW & ORDER heats up with guest appearances in following episodes by Ned Beatty (Charlie Wilson’s War, Shooter), Sherry Stringfield (ER), Jena Malone (Into the Wild), Katee Sackhoff (BATTLESTAR GALACTICA), Tom Everett Scott (CASHMERE MAFIA) and Vivica A. When jeweler Victor Madison (guest star Ted Koch, Cashmere Mafia) is found murdered, Detectives Lupo and Bernard investigate a peculiar deposit made into Madison’s bank account. The deposit leads the detectives to Madison’s brother-in-law, Frank Beezley (guest star Eric Sheffer Stevens, Invasion), who was running an illegal prostitution ring, The Excalibur Club. The subsequent trial gets risky for Jack McCoy when his job is threatened.

When legal aid striker Frank Dresner (guest star Justin Hagan, New Amsterdam) is killed outside the courthouse, the sand in Dresner’s wounds lead Lupo and Bernard to investigate a greenskeeper at a local golf course – Ted Sanderson (guest star Brad William Henke, October Road), who had already served nine years in prison for the murder of his wife. Due to the legal aid strike and the shortage of defense attorneys, Rubirosa is ordered to represent the defendant, pitting Rubirosa and Cutter against one another.

Saturday, July 19
9 p.m.

When a novelist is found dead in her car, it appears to be a suicide – until Lupo and Bernard suspect a cult is involved. The victim’s husband, Bradley Cameron (guest star Daniel London, The Sopranos), were paranoid that members of a cult had been trailing them recently. However, Bradley himself comes under suspicion as the detectives begin to chip away at his alibi. When the case goes to trial, Cutter has trouble prosecuting his case when several members of the jury fear for their own safety.
