What does it take to live the ‘Rock Star’ life? Is fame and fortune worth the price? Find out when the original, half-hour scripted drama series ‘KAYA’ premieres Friday, September 5th at 10pm on Citytv. Catch encore presentations Saturday nights at 8:30pm (8pm MT) beginning September 6th.

“KAYA” follows the life of a musically-gifted young woman who, along with her band Crossing Coldwater, becomes an overnight sensation. Stuck between Rock ‘n’ Roll and a hard place, Kaya is about to discover the harsh realities of living her dream in today’s media-crazed society. Kaya struggles to come to terms with her own identity as egos clash and hidden jealousies surface within her band and in the public eye. Kaya quickly realizes that even those closest to her can’t always be counted on to act in her best interest. While she navigates her way through newfound fame and celebrity Kaya reflects on her past and her life before she was handed a VIP pass to superstardom.

The series stars Danielle Savre (“Heroes,” “Summerland”) as Kaya, Cory Monteith (“Kyle XY”, “The Invisible”) as Gunnar, Joe MacLeod (“Saved”, “Ghost Trackers”) as Manny and Justin Wilczynski as Taylor. Rounding out the cast is Mike Dopud (“Smallville,” “Traveler”) as Kaya’s dad and manager Don Lawson, singer/songwriter Eric Benet as music producer T Davis, Robert Moloney (“Masters of Science Fiction”) as record label executive Rossi and Jessica Parker Kennedy as Kaya’s best friend Natalee.

At this pace can Kaya’s star continue to rise or will she just burn out? Watch “KAYA” Wednesday nights on Citytv beginning September 5th with encore presentations on Saturday nights beginning September 6th.
