Jersey Shore

Watch out Seaside, from fist-pumps to fists-in-the-face, JERSEY SHORE is back!

Everyone’s favourite guidos and guidettes from the Shore returned for a third season last week, shower caddies in hand, with their highest season premiere yet.

A total of 377,000 total viewers tuned in last week to watch as the roommates moved back to their home in Seaside Heights, with 236,000 in the key P12-34 demo. The Season 3 premiere was up 13% among total viewers and 17% among P12-34 viewers compared to the Season 2 debut last July.

More people were watching MTV last week during JERSEY SHORE than any other (English) specialty channel in Canada. The episode was also the most-watched, non-sports specialty program of the day amongst P12-34 and A18-34 viewers.

JERSEY SHORE also took over Twitter with seven trending topics in Canada during the broadcast. Last week’s episode is available now on demand at

In this week’s episode, airing Thursday, Jan. 13 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, the battle royale between Sammi and J-Woww leads to tensions in the house. Ronnie and Sammi continue to isolate themselves, missing the first family dinner. And when Ronnie decides to hang out and have fun with the rest of the house, Sammi feels all alone.

We’re hearing the plans to have Jersey Shore cast member Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi could be sacked. MTV had planned to put Snooki inside of a glass ball in times square and drop her at the stroke of midnight (again, this is not a joke). But New York city officials say that’s a no go because all media outlets must adhear to the same guidlines if broadcasting from Times Square.

But now TMZ is reporting that MTV has moved the ball drop from Times Square to where it all began, the Jersey Shore house in Seaside Heights. They’ve also posted photos of the ball in question and it’s a clear glass ball with the word “Snooki” lit up across it.

God love ya, MTV.

Are you staying in for New Years Eve? Don’t want to see an orange person being lowered in a glass ball? We’ve got you covered. Take a look at our New Years Eve TV Viewing Guide. Whether you want music, or a live event.. Throng’s got you covered.

Snooki is going to have a ball this New Year’s Eve. Literally. As DJ Pauly D spins the beats, Snooki and The Situation say goodbye to 2010 with MTV’S NEW YEAR’S BASH 2011, airing Friday, Dec. 31 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.

Live from MTV’s Times Square studio is the year’s most kick-ass New Year’s party where everyone’s favourite guidette, Snooki, is placed inside a ball just before midnight dropping to MTV’s rooftop deck.

Viewers can also watch history in the making as The Situation leads the crowd in a Guinness World Record attempt for the biggest collective fist pump.

Hosting the festivities is comedian Whitney Cummings with help from MTV’s THE SEVEN co-hosts Kevin Manno and Julie Alexandria. Special guests including SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE’s resident funnyman Bobby Moynihan, internet sensation Keenan Cahill and R & B star Flo Rida, who performs his hit single “Club Can’t Handle Me” for the crowd.

And that’s not all.
