As a popular TV personality, owner of a successful construction company and father of two, Bryan Baeumler seems to have his hands full and yet he’s taking on his biggest project to date! He’s building his family’s home from the ground up in the brand new Canadian original series House of Bryan. Premiering January 7 at 9pm ET/PT on HGTV Canada, the series chronicles the transformation of Bryan Baeumler’s home from a modest 50-year-old bungalow to the ultimate 4000 square foot custom dream home.
Bryan has just six months to demolish the old house and build his dream home. He has a personal stake in this project not only because he’s passionate about construction, but also from a promise he made to his wife Sarah that he would turn their small starter home into a bigger and more beautiful home their family could grow old in.
“House of Bryan reveals that even for a veteran contractor like Bryan Baeumler, knocking down a house and rebuilding it to suit a family’s needs is not as straightforward as it appears,” said Emily Morgan, VP Content, HGTV, Food Network and DIY Network Canada. “Viewers see how Bryan and his family cope throughout the construction process and how they struggle to keep the project on track.”
Bryan’s valuable experience as a contractor doesn’t mean he’s immune to problems. He battles issues like running out of materials, conflicting opinions with his wife, weather delays, novice workmanship and municipal red tape. House of Bryan provides an insider’s look at home renovations and documents the financial, emotional and physical stress that mounts week to week.
