Betty White has capped off an incredible year with another award, voted Entertainer of the Year by the Associated Press.

The Hot In Cleveland star took the honour ahead of the cast of Glee with a total of 20 first place votes out of 102 ballots, with the Glee cast coming a close second with 18.

White adds the honour to an already colourful list of achievements in 2010 including a lifetime achievement Screen Actors Guild Awards, an Emmy, another SAG nomination and a successful new sitcom among other things.

But the 88-year-old plays down her success this past year.

“It’s ridiculous,” White told the AP. “They haven’t caught on to me, and I hope they never do.”

“Everybody keeps congratulating me on my resurgence and my big comeback. I haven’t been away, guys. I’ve been working steadily for the last 63 years. … I’ve had my own following all that time. If they want me to go away, if they get tired of me, just stop asking me because I keep saying yes.”
