homeland-DiegoCanadian actor Diego Klattenhoff has confirmed he will be gracing the screen on the third season of Homeland.

Klattenhoff, who plays Mike Faber, confirmed to TV Guide Canada that his character will indeed be back despite rumours he would not be seen again.

He says he has no idea what will be in store for him, Jess (Morena Baccarin) or Brody (Damian Lewis).

“They kind of keep everyone in the dark,” he says. “I know they have some stuff for me when we work it out. I’d love to go back and do whatever I can for them. It’s a fantastic place to be in, to be a part of two really compelling shows.” Continue reading »

HOMELAND (Season 2)Some major details have been revealed regarding the third season of Homeland.

Co-creator Alex Gansa released a few snippets in a recent interview in the US, saying the season will tackle a whole lot more than just the Body and Carrie saga.

“The issue in this season is, what happens if it were learned that a major attack on the United States was sponsored by a state …the biggest piece of all is you know the aftermath of a second 9/11 attack…there is this interesting question which is, the CIA has proved in our show incapable of protecting itself. How can it be expected to protect the country…these are the big concerns that we’re going to deal with in the first sweep of episodes,” Gansa said. Continue reading »

HOMELANDHomeland’s David Marciano will not play a major role in the third season of the series.

The actor – who plays Virgil – will not be a series regular like he was in the previous two seasons but will still appear as a recurring guest.

Diego Klattenhoff is another former regular who will not be back full-time.

Marciano is developing a cable drama with writer Steven Pickman, manager Craig Dorfman and producer Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment.

HomelandCarrieBravo is bringing Homeland to Canadian audiences right from the beginning.

The network will air the first and second seasons of the critically-acclaimed drama series from March 6.

Homeland is a one-hour psychological thriller starring Danes as a CIA officer who becomes convinced that the intelligence that led to the rescue of a U.S. soldier (Lewis) who had been missing in Iraq and presumed dead for eight years was a set-up, and may be connected to an Al Qaeda plot to be carried out on American soil. The Claire Danes “cry face” meme did the rounds last year and it appears we’re not done with it just yet.

American website CollegeHumor has released a new “Homeland RPG” video that parodies the show and its characters, especially Danes and her “cry face”.

HomelandCarrieOn an entertainment level, a lot of people would agree that Homeland really hits the mark but it should come as no surprise that in terms of accurately portraying the intelligence community, it appears to leave a lot to be desired.

“At the very least the show is entertaining, albeit very very unrealistic” is how one actual intelligence analyst described the drama series.

“[No TV show] really gets intelligence work right, and the reason is because intelligence work makes for boring TV. A “real” spy [show] would probably involve lots of Powerpoint presentations, and lots of people huddled over computers (still running windows xp) with empty cans of Redbull/Monster surrounding them.”

They also pointed to the character of Carrie (Claire Danes) as being highly unrealistic, given some of her actions on the show. Continue reading »
