This week’s Golden Globe Awards were the most-watched on record in Canada.

3.4 million Canadians tuned into the CTV broadcast of the Tina Fey and Amy Poehler-hosted ceremony on Sunday night, a figure that is up 5 per cent on last year.

The three-hour broadcast peaked at 10.04pm with 4.3 million watching Jodie Foster’s speech after receiving the Cecil B. De Mile Awards.

E! may have the awards season covered but it has nothing to do with the actual awards.

The network’s only interested in what happens on the red carpet and they are preparing for the biggest few weeks in the Hollywood fashion calendar.

Presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, THE 70TH ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBES are hosted by Golden Globe Award-winner Tina Fey and Golden Globe Award-nominee Amy Poehler. The three-hour star studded live event celebrates achievement in film and television with the brightest stars in the industry. Nominations include CTV’s THE BIG BANG THEORY, SMASH, Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere from NASHVILLE, and Jim Parsons from THE BIG BANG THEORY.
