Global Winnipeg announced today that Kate Gajdosik (guhh-DOE-sik) will be returning to her hometown of Winnipeg to be the new Weather Specialist for the weekday news team.
Gajdosik will use her extensive meteorological skills, and her understanding of the area’s climate patterns to provide Global viewers with the most precise and up-to-date weather information in the region.
Viewers can look for Gajdosik weeknights on Global Winnipeg’s Evening News with Peter Chura at 6:00 pm, and at 10:00 pm for Prime News and 11:00 pm for News Final beginning September 12.
In addition to providing the most accurate weather forecast and analysis, Gajdosik will also represent Global Winnipeg at community events across Manitoba, and show community leaders in action through the station’s ongoing Heart of the Community series.
“Bringing someone of Kate’s calibre to Global Winnipeg illustrates our continued dedication to providing Manitobans with the most informative and locally-relevant newscasts possible,” said Jon Lovlin, News Director, Global Winnipeg. “Kate’s expertise and extensive meteorological training are a huge advantage in giving our viewers the accurate weather information they need to plan their day.”
Originally from Winnipeg, Kate spent the last 16 years living in Vancouver working in film and television. She has been a reporter for several Vancouver television and radio stations including Global BC, AM 730, CKNW; and Talk 1410AM where she co-hosted the afternoon drive show.
