Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs (Canadian Premiere)

The Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs tests 10 internationally renowned chefs’ kitchen skills, mental strength and masterful instincts through a series of cut-throat challenges yet only one winner will be inducted into the Chairman’s team on Iron Chef America, joining the prestigious ranks of Iron Chefs Bobby Flay, Marc Forgione, Masaharu Morimoto and Michael Symon. In this new season Montreal’s Chuck Hughes, host of Chuck’s Day Off and recently the first Canadian Chef to beat Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America, is amongst the elite group of competitors. Hosted by Alton Brown (Iron Chef America and Good Eats) this season’s competition is judged by original Next Iron Chef Michael Symon, esteemed food journalist Simon Majumdar and UK Iron Chef Judy Joo.

Canadians won’t miss a moment of the competition as Food Network will be on free preview October 17 through December 31, 2011.

The hugely popular series Food Network Star has returned to Food Network Canada with the most star-studded season yet.

Hosted by Bobby Flay and Giada DeLaurentiis, and aided by a selection committee including Food Network executives Bob Tuschman and Susie Fogelson, Food Network Star follows 15 finalists as they compete in a series of food-related challenges for the chance to host their own show on Food Network.

The five finalists begin Tuesday night’s action-packed episode scouring the stores of Chelsea Market in New York City searching for the best things they’ve ever eaten, to prepare for a challenge modelled after the hit series Best Thing I Ever Ate.

Bobby Flay then directs them to describe why this dish is so wonderful and how it impacted them. Next, the finalists prepare a signature roast dish that will in turn get roasted by guest star comedians Gilbert Gottfried, Aubrey Plaza, Anthony Anderson, Louie Anderson and Judy Gold. The surprise guests reveal who preps the best slab of meat, and who’s just comic relief.

Tune in to Food Network Star Tuesday, August 9th at 9pm ET/10pm PT on Food Network Canada to find out who has the Star appeal!  An encore presentation of this episode will air Sunday, August 14th at 3pm ET/12pm PT on Food Network Canada.

Former “Bachelor” and sports commentator, Jesse Palmer, was announced today as the host for the first season of “Recipe To Riches”.

The show gives inspiring home cooks the opportunity to win $25,000 each episode. Each episode will be based on a specific category of food (Appetizers, Frozen Treats, Entrees, Sweet & Savoury Snacks, Savoury Pies, Cakes, Sweet Pies) and at the end of the season Canada will vote on their favourite recipe and the winner will receive $250,000.

The winner of each episode will also have their product hit supermarket shelves in participating Loblaw stores as a President’s Choice product.
