It’s the most wonderful time of the year as Astral’s Family Channel spreads the holiday spirit with the return of its annual Twistmas programming line-up from November 30.

Family celebrates the season with two holiday-themed Night of Premieres, Twistmas Marathons and a special hosted New Years Day Countdown. Family OnDemand will be stuffed like a stocking with Twistmas episodes beginning December 7.

Christmas comes a little early this year with a Twistmas Merrython on November 30. Beginning at 6 p.m. ET/PT, Family gifts viewers with winter-themed episodes of Shake It Up, So Random!, Jessie, A.N.T. Farm and the network premiere of the feature film Christmas with the Kranks at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Family Channel puts kids to work this spring by asking them to give the network a shake and make their break!

Starting Monday, February 20 and ending Friday, March 2, kids can head to family.ca to vote for the shows that they want to watch on Family this March Break.

The top five series selected will each receive a marathon day of back-to-back episodes from Monday, March 12 to Friday, March 16 between 8:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. ET/PT.

The March Break madness continues at family.ca where visitors can scout out Family’s ultimate Make Your Break guide full of favourite March Break activities written and submitted by kids across the country in the Make Your Break contest.

Over 15,000 amazing March Break activities were entered, the best of which have been included in the Make Your Break activity guide – an interactive map listing what kids all across Canada are looking forward to this March Break.

Whether viewers are in Corner Brook, Kitchener, North Battleford or Vernon this March Break, the local kids tell you what they really like to do!

There’s no better way to spend the holidays than with Family! Family Channel is gifting viewers with a December to remember as a Holiday Night of Premieres, Twistmas Marathons and the New Years Eve Countdown bring festive fun to the network.

The holiday cheer continues on Family.ca where kids can send Twistmas Giftmas greetings to their friends, play exclusive winter games and enter cool contests throughout the month.

It’s a special holiday edition of the Night of Premieres on Friday, December 16 with five new episodes kicking off with Phineas and Ferb at 4:40 p.m. ET/PT. In the new episode, the boys decide to put on a traditional family Christmas special featuring three new holiday songs and special guests including Kelly Clarkson (playing herself). On So Random! at 5:30 p.m. ET/PT, Justin Bieber performs “Mistletoe” off his holiday album. At 7:00 p.m. ET/PT on Jessie, Christina and Morgan get caught in a snowstorm and Jessie is left shopping for the kids’ Christmas presents. Other episodes premiering as part of this lineup are Shake It Up and A.N.T. Farm.

Family is debuting feature film premieres to keep spirits bright throughout the month. Weekends get a festive sprinkle with Good Luck Charlie, It’s Christmas! (December 2), Eight Below (December 9) and Snow Buddies (December 23). Meanwhile, Boxing Day kicks off five nights of Disney Channel Original Movie presentations with musical features including both Camp Rock films and the High School Musical trilogy, including the network premiere of High School Musical 3: Senior Year on Friday, December 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

It’s marathon mayhem on Family from December 26 to January 4 as the network’s top series take over. Two Twistmas Marathons will air weekdays beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET/PT and 1:00 p.m. ET/PT, each featuring six back-to-back episodes from top Disney Channel Original Series. Series include Wizards of Waverly Place, Good Luck Charlie, Jessie, Shake It Up and A.N.T. Farm. Finishing off the winter break are two days dedicated to Wizards of Waverly Place. An episode marathon beginning on Thursday, January 5 at 8:00 a.m. ET/PT will run straight through to the hour-long series finale on Friday, January 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT where viewers will learn which Russo sibling will be named the family wizard.

Family is ringing in the New Year with the ultimate episode marathon featuring 31 of the year’s top-rated episodes packed into 13 celebratory hours of fun. Beginning at 8:00 a.m. ET/PT, viewers can relive the best episodes from the past year. Carrying on from 9:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. ET/PT, viewers can catch six back-to-back episodes of Good Luck Charlie.

Family.ca is a holiday destination not to be missed this month as it debuts new seasonal games, activities and contests. Site visitors can send seasonal greetings to friends when Twistmas Giftmas returns in December with 25 new gifts to share. New games fill the site with a focus on Family’s top series including Jessie, Wingin’ It and Really Me, as well as newcomer Austin & Ally. Winter-themed games also add a little extra cheer to Family.ca all month long.

Family Channel makes its mark with Canadian students as it launches its ninth annual Bullying Awareness Week (November 14-20).

This year the campaign, entitled What’s Up, Stand UP! features a special programming event, beginning at 4:00 p.m. ET/PT on Monday, November 14, along with bullying-themed programming throughout the week and new original content.

In addition, Family will hold two online chats during the week giving kids the opportunity to discuss bullying-related topics with trained professionals and Family stars. Full details of the special schedule are available at Family.ca/standup.

What’s Up, Stand UP! launches with a special evening of hosted programming from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Anchored by the What’s Up, Warthogs! news desk team, the evening features episodes from top Family series including Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up and Wingin’ It, as well as a never-before-seen episode of What’s Up, Warthogs! Rounding out the evening are special reports focused on Family stars’ personal experiences with bullying and segments detailing where to turn for bullying prevention resources.

Also premiering as part of this special lineup is the music video for the Bullying Awareness Week anthem, performed by Canadian pop star Tyler Medeiros and written by Ryan Kowarsky, Dan Kowarsky and Maks Gabriel. Footage from one of this year’s bullying prevention rallies will also air on Monday evening. Family Channel selected four schools for rallies, each chosen from almost 1,250 nominations submitted by students across Canada.

Online, the Stand UP! minisite on Family.ca features bullying prevention tip sheets, educator’s guides devised by PREVNet and message boards. Visitors to the site will be able to stream the Stand UP! news segments as well the special Stand UP! music video for this year’s Stand UP! anthem, “What’s Up, Stand Up.”

To enhance this year’s campaign, Family Channel will host two live online chats on Family.ca during Bullying Awareness Week to facilitate discussion about bullying and talk about ways to tackle the issue. On Tuesday, November 15 and Thursday, November 17, Family stars Ana Golja and Tiago Abreu from What’s Up, Warthogs! will be joined by Dr. Joanne Cummings, Partnership Director at PREVNet and Clinical Child Psychologist at Blueballoon as well as Kids Help Phone representative Shannon Freud to discuss their own experiences with bullying and respond to students’ concerns. The chats will run from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. ET, and students are encouraged to pose questions and share their feelings on the subject.

Astral’s Family Channel is casting a spell on viewers this October as Halloween specials join the schedule. The bone-chilling lineup features new episodes on Fridays throughout the month, a special four-episode Wizards of Waverly Place story arc and mysterious movies airing each weekend.

Online at Family.ca, viewers can play tricky new games, check their October ‘horrorscopes’ and enter a watch and win contest.

October 14 gives a new meaning to ‘fright night’ with a Halloween-themed Night of Premieres schedule. Featuring festive new episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place, Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up, Jessie, A.N.T. Farm and So Random!, the lineup kicks off at 4:30 p.m. ET/PT with Phineas and Ferb where guest stars Anna Paquin (True Blood) and Michael J. Fox (Teen Wolf) voice Halloween-inspired characters. The eerie evening concludes with the feature film Return to Halloweentown, the fourth instalment in the Halloweentown series of films, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Spellbinding new episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place continue to air Friday nights throughout the month with a four-episode story arc entitled “Wizards of Waverly Place – Apartment 13B.” Following the episode included in the Night of Premieres lineup on October 14, the Russos will continue to face off against their archenemy, Gorog, in a never-before seen episode on Friday, October 21 at 5:00 p.m. ET/PT. The battle comes to a head on Friday, October 28 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, when all four episodes of the arc (two previously broadcast and two premiere episodes) air back to back followed by Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.  

Family is delivering wicked weekends with frightening flicks each Friday night at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and Saturdays and Sundays at 12:00 p.m. ET/PT. The movie lineup includes Halloweentown 1, 2, 3 and 4, Twitches, Twitches Too, Roxy Hunter and the Horrific Halloween, Roxy Hunter and the Mystery of the Moody Ghost and Under Wraps.

In honour of Halloween, Family.ca is conjuring up games, activities and contests to fuel the seasonal spirit. New and returning favourite Halloween-themed games will be available alongside fortune telling activities and special haunted ‘horrorscopes’ all month long. A special Wizards of Waverly Place watch and win contest will be paired with the Friday night episodes beginning October 14, where a special word will appear during the episodes and viewers can enter this code online for the chance to win one of three prize packs featuring props from the series.

Family OnDemand subscribers get their fill of Halloween programming throughout October when seasonal episodes from viewers’ favourite series including Phineas and Ferb, Good Luck Charlie and Shake It Up are added to the lineup. Additionally, the “Wizards of Waverly Place – Apartment 13B” episodes will be available OnDemand beginning October 28.

One night just couldn’t hold all the excitement as Family Channel presents its first ever Week of Premieres from Monday, September 19 to Friday, September 23. New episodes from Family’s top series including Good Luck Charlie and So Random! debut each day back-to-back at 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Good Luck Charlie leads charge of the weeknight schedule with four new episodes from the series airing Monday through Thursday at 5:30 p.m. ET/PT. The Duncans have their hands full all week long with episodes that see Amy get involved in Gabe’s love life, Teddy getting her first car and Charlie starting preschool.

Following Good Luck Charlie on Monday at 6:00 p.m. ET/PT is a new episode of A.N.T. Farm. Chyna, Olive and Fletcher host a webathon to raise money to cover Gibson’s salary after school budget cuts take away his job.

On Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. ET/PT, the So Random! gang is visited by special guest The Ready Set who perform “Young Forever.” Comedy sketches featured in this episode include “Raised by Beavers,” “Simple Country Boy” and “Flash Mob: Surgery.”

Porter helps Carl build up his nerve to kiss Jane with a magical kiss enchantment on a new episode of Wingin’ It, premiering Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. ET/PT. But when Carl accidentally kisses the wrong girl, the enchantment gets out of control and spreads throughout the school.

Thursday brings a new episode of Wizards of Waverly Place to Family at 6:00 p.m. ET/PT. Alex and Harper decide to get their own apartment after graduating high school but when the rent is too expensive, they enlist Justin and Zeke to help them raise the funds.

The Week of Premieres wraps up with two final back-to-back premieres on Friday. A new episode of Pair of Kings at 5:30 p.m. ET/PT sees the kings learn Mason has an estranged brother and set out to reunite the two men. Immediately following at 6:00 p.m. ET/PT, is So Random! Magical students Harry Potter, Gollum and the Twilight Trio are contestants in the “Wheel of Fortune Magic” sketch and internet sensation Dave Days performs “What Does it Take.”

All episodes debuting during Family Channel’s Week of Premieres will be available on Family OnDemand beginning September 23.

Family Channel goes behind the news desk this fall as it prepares for the ninth-annual Bullying Awareness Week.

From November 14-20 Family’s campaign, this year named What’s Up, Stand UP!, will focus on the important issue of bullying through a week of special programming, online chats with Family stars and trained counselors as well as three Stand UP! in-school rallies.

Family.ca is now accepting entries for students to win a rally for their school.

What’s Up, Stand UP! will see the annual weeklong campaign kick off on Monday, November 14 with an evening of reports, interviews and special episodes all anchored by the cast of Family’s What’s Up, Warthogs!

From 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, the West Hills High news desk team will introduce special bullying-themed episodes of Family shows such as Wingin’ It, Good Luck Charlie and Wizards of Waverly Place along with exclusive interviews with Family stars who have experienced bullying first hand.

The evening will also feature reports that highlight resources to help viewers that may be affected by bullying and the broadcast premiere of the latest music video from pop sensation Tyler Medeiros who has performed a song specifically for this year’s campaign.

Also entitled, “What’s Up, Stand UP!,” the song was made available for streaming on Family.ca earlier today.

An integral part of the Bullying Awareness Week campaign, Family will take the message of bullying prevention into Canadian schools with three Stand UP! rallies. Featuring Family stars and a discussion led by a representative from national organization PREVNet, students can enter to win a rally at Family.ca by submitting a report (text, video or audio) explaining how they Stand UP! to bullying in their community. The contest runs until 5:00 p.m. ET on Friday, October 7.

Those interested in the What’s Up, Stand UP! campaign can visit Family.ca to listen to Tyler’s song and learn more about Bullying Awareness Week. Bullying prevention resources for kids and educators are available for download and students can enter to win a Stand UP! rally at their school. Also on Family.ca, kids can take part in an anonymous online chat about bullying with Family stars and qualified counselors from PREVNet and Kids Help Phone. The chats will occur on Tuesday, November 15 and Thursday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Family Channel co-founded Bullying Awareness Week in 2003 and developed the Stand UP! campaign in association with PREVNet (Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence Network), a national network of Canadian researchers, community organizations and governments committed to ending bullying and promoting positive relationships.

Two new shows from Disney premiere on Family along with new episodes from hit Disney and Canadian series.

On Disney Junior, younger viewers will delight in the fall premiere of a new season of the award-winning Canadian animated series Stella and Sam, as well as the debut of new short-form programming starring Minnie Mouse.

On the newly launched Disney XD, fans of action will be enthralled with new episodes of Disney XD’s adrenaline-fuelled Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil as well as a new season of Connor Undercover.

On Family, the big city awaits a small-town girl in the new live-action comedy from Disney Channel, Jessie, airing a sneak peek episode on September 30 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Starring Debby Ryan (The Suite Life on Deck), Jessie follows a starry-eyed teen from rural Texas who moves to New York City to explore what exists outside her familiar life. She soon finds herself living in a multi-million dollar penthouse as nanny to a high-profile couple’s four children, one of their imaginary friends and a seven foot Asian Water Monitor lizard named Mr. Kippling. New episodes of Jessie will continue to air Fridays at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT from October 14.

Also from Disney Channel, PrankStars makes its debut on Family at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT on September 30. The reality series is hosted by Mitchel Musso (Pair of Kings) as he directs pranks live from a covert mobile command centre. Stars including Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place) and China Anne McClain (A.N.T. Farm) surprise their fans when unsuspecting tweens and teens are set up by family members and come face to face with their favourite celebrities. The series will air throughout the fall.

The second season of Disney’s buddy comedy series Shake It Up shimmies onto Family this fall beginning October 10. CeCe Jones and Rocky Blue, two high-spirited best friends, have mastered the latest dance styles and navigated the backstage antics of their frenemies, but balancing responsibilities at home and school all while appearing as background dancers in “Shake It Up, Chicago!” is keeping the girls on their toes. Viewers can catch new episodes of Shake It Up on Fridays at 6:00 p.m. ET/PT from October 14.

New episodes of the hit Canadian comedy Wingin’ It air on Family on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. ET/PT from September 24. The series follows angel-in-training Porter Jackson (Demetrius Joyette, The Latest Buzz, Roxy Hunter) as he helps Carl Montclaire (Dylan Everett) become the most popular student at Bennett High.

 

Disney Junior

Premiering this fall on Disney Junior, the multi-award winning Canadian series Stella and Sam returns for a second season beginning in October. As they explore the world in all its seasons, siblings Stella and Sam encounter backyard quests and imaginative adventures. This animated series is based on the popular books by Canadian author and illustrator Marie-Louise Gay.

Younger viewers can follow the comings and goings in the new animated short-form series Minnie’s Bow-Toons when it joins the Disney Junior schedule in November. Starring Minnie Mouse, the series is based on the comedic happenings at Minnie’s Bow-Tique Hotel. On any given day, Minnie acts as hostess, party planner, chef, fashion consultant, riding instructor or tour guide, with Daisy Duck taking on the role of a very chatty front desk clerk.

 

Disney XD

Launched on June 1, Disney XD delivers the best in comedy and action series with programming that focuses on adventure, discovery, sports and achievement. Fall brings a new season of the high-octane animated series, Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil. The Disney XD series follows an extraordinary kid determined to become the world’s greatest daredevil. Small in stature but big in heart, Kick makes the most out of his suburban surroundings and takes on every stunt with unwavering enthusiasm. Season two of the show premieres on September 5 at 5:30 p.m. ET during a full-day marathon on Disney XD beginning at 11:00 a.m. ET. New episodes of Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil will air on Sundays at 8:30 p.m. ET from September 11.

The second season of the Canadian original production Connor Undercover premieres on Disney XD on September 25 at 3:30 p.m. ET. Fifteen-year-old Connor Heath’s world is rocked when a beautiful president’s daughter is sent to live with his family. The two teens must scheme to figure out the mystery that’s taken over their lives – if they can only figure out how to get along first! New episodes air Sundays at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Family Channel is making the most of its 104 days of summer with the premiere of the highly anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension on Friday, August 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Airing day and date with the U.S. premiere on Disney Channel, the animated epic sees Phineas and Ferb transported to another world to face off against evil in its most malevolent form – Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

Based on the popular series, Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension, follows the adventurous siblings as they discover that their beloved pet platypus, Perry, is a secret agent who regularly pits his marsupial mettle against his nemesis, Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

Phineas and Ferb team up with Perry (aka Agent P) on a grand adventure through a parallel universe where they meet alternate versions of themselves and their friends and must ultimately thwart an extra evil version of Dr. Doofenshmirtz. Phineas and Ferb fans will have another chance to catch the movie when it airs on the newly launched Disney XD on August 20.

Family OnDemand and Disney XD OnDemand are preparing for Phineas and Ferb’s big adventure by offering selected episodes from the first two seasons of the hit series. Episodes from season one will be available on Disney XD OnDemand beginning July 19, while on Family OnDemand, season two episodes became available July 4. Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension will also be available on Disney XD OnDemand from August 23 and Family OnDemand from August 26.

The multi-dimensional movie also goes multi-platform as Family.ca and DisneyXD.ca launch Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension supersites. Leading up to the film the sites will be populated with new games including “The Movie Game: The Dimension of Doooom!” new activities, behind-the-scenes footage from the movie and an exclusive contest to win a 3D handheld gaming system.
