As jubilation continues to reign in Spain, preliminary overnight data from BBM Canada confirms that a record average audience of 3.04 million viewers watched live coverage of the UEFA EURO 2012 Final on TSN and RDS – making this year’s Spain-Italy championship game the most-watched EURO match ever on Canadian television*.

With 2.57 million viewers watching on TSN and 469,000 on RDS, the total average audience for the EURO 2012 Final is more than twice the average audience recorded for the EURO 2008 Final (1.3 million on TSN and RDS). Continue reading »

Sunday’s Italy-England UEFA Euro 2012 penalty kick thriller attracted an average audience of 2.058 million viewers on TSN – making it the most watched UEFA Euro match ever on Canadian television*.

Sunday’s match was also the most-watched program of the week on all Canadian television.

The audience for the game peaked at just under 3 million viewers as Italy won 4-2 in the shootout following a 0-0 tie with England.

UEFA Euro 2012 is here and Canada is watching. Through the opening weekend (six games), UEFA Euro 2012 is attracting an average of 707,000 viewers on TSN and TSN2 according to overnight data from BBM Canada.

This is more than double the average audience for the first six games of Euro 2008 (265,000 on TSN and Sportsnet)*.

Overall more than 7.1 million Canadians have tuned in to watch some or all of UEFA Euro 2012 coverage on TSN and TSN2 this weekend. Continue reading »

TSN welcomes a new recruit to the network, as former English Premier League and English national team midfielder Darren Anderton joins Canada’s Sports Leader’s broadcast team for UEFA Euro 2012.

Anderton, who represented England on the national stage, will work alongside TSN’s UEFA Euro 2012 host Luke Wileman and analyst Jason deVos in studio throughout the tournament. UEFA Euro 2012 takes place in Poland and Ukraine from June 8 to July 1.

One of the world’s biggest sporting events is here and TSN is giving Canadians complete coverage of every minute of UEFA Euro 2012.

All 31 games from UEFA Euro 2012 will be broadcast in high definition with 26 games on TSN, four games on TSN2 and one game on CTV.
