The season 6B premiere of DOCTOR WHO shattered its own record Saturday night, capturing a whopping 834,000 viewers, making it the biggest audience on record for SPACE.

The episode, “Let’s Kill Hitler”, ended the night as most-watched program overall on Canadian television for adult viewers (18-49 and 25-54). Peaking at 977,000 viewers, the episode attracted 1.2 million unique viewers in all.

Following at 9 p.m. ET, the DOCTOR WHO spin-off series, TORCHWOOD: MIRACLE DAY, ranked as the #2 program among adults 18-49. The episode, entitled “End of the Road”, drew in an impressive 528,000 total viewers. Both episodes of DOCTOR WHO and TORCHWOOD: MIRACLE DAY are available for viewing on spacecast.com.

In next week’s episode of DOCTOR WHO, The Doctor receives a distress call from the scariest place in the Universe, a child’s bedroom. Allaying his fears won’t be easy, even for the Doctor…because George’s monsters are real. “Night Terrors” premieres Saturday, September 3 at 8 p.m. ET, exclusively on SPACE. Beforehand, viewers show their loyalty to the companions – Amy, Rory and River Song when the one-hour special DOCTOR WHO: BEST OF THE COMPANIONS premieres at 7 p.m. ET.

The best in genre is taking off on SPACE and SPACE HD this Fall, with massive marathons, mind-blowing finales and epic premieres.

SPACE’s fly Fall schedule launches with the return of INNERSPACE, SPACE’s flagship original daily show, probing the latest and greatest in genre news, every Monday-Friday at 11 p.m. ET starting Sept. 19.

As the heat subsides, SPACE’s Fall lineup doesn’t cool off. The Fall schedule also features the debut of several brand new series, including the freaky drama BEDLAM (Saturday, Oct. 1 at 9 p.m. ET), centered around a haunted insane asylum-turned-apartment building, and the gritty ghost-hunting PARANORMAL WITNESS (Monday, Oct. 3 at 10 p.m. ET).

Then, fan favourite and Canadian original series SANCTUARY returns with a bone-chilling fourth season on Friday, Oct. 7 at 10 p.m. ET. Last but not least – and just in time for the ultimate horror holiday – the Gemini-nominated SPACE original series TODD AND THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL returns for Season 2, Sunday, Oct. 23 at 10 p.m. ET.

DR. WHO  – Season Premiere

“Let’s Kill Hitler” – Summoned back to Leadworth by Amy and Rory, the Doctor is introduced to Mels, their childhood best friend. When Mels suggests a trip to the Third Reich, the TARDIS crashes, inadvertently saving the life of Adolf Hitler. After Mels is shot by Hitler, the truth of her identity is revealed as she starts to regenerate…this time into the woman we know as River Song. But will Melody recognise herself or will she continue on with her mission to kill the Doctor? And how much will the Doctor find out about his future in the meantime?

 

INNERSPACE – Season Premiere

NIKITA – Season Premiere

Nikita and Michael are on the run with a hard drive of the government’s darkest secrets and conspiracies. Together they plan to right the wrongs of the division – if they are not hunted down first.

 

BEDLAM – Series Premiere – NEW

Saturday, Oct. 1 at 9 p.m. ET

BEDLAM is based around an apartment block called ‘Bedlam Heights’, which was previously a mental asylum, and the strange hauntings that happen to those who live there. Jed Harper (Theo James) possesses the ability to see ghosts, while the other tenants Kate (Charlotte Salt), Ryan (Will Young) and Molly (Ashley Madekwe), merely cope with the ghosts that haunt their homes.

 

PARANORMAL WITNESS – Series Premiere – NEW

Monday, Oct. 3 at 10 p.m. ET

PARANORMAL WITNESS is an intense, cinematic drama-documentary series. The show brings to life the true stories of people who have lived through explanation-defying paranormal experiences. Set in present day Portland, Oregon, this cop drama outs a new twist on the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. A homicide detective named Nick (David Giuntoli) learns that he is a descendent of a group of hunters known as “Grimms”, who fight to keep the balance of humanity safe from the supernatural creatures of the world. Upon learning of his destiny and that he is the last of his kind, he has to protect every living soul from the sinister storybook characters that have infiltrated the real world

 

TODD AND THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL – Season Premiere

After an epic cliff-hanger in the Season 1 finale, Todd Smith and the gang return from the depths of hell for a second round of gore-a-fying adventures in the hallways of Crowley High.

 

CHUCK – Season Premiere

Chuck Bartowski, a nerdy computer tech, has a database of government secrets downloaded into his brain. He finds himself recruited by John Casey, a veteran NSA Agent, for espionage work with his new partner Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski, “Gone”) – leading Chuck into a double life as a computer geek by day and a secret NSA spy by night.

PRIMEVAL – Season Premiere

Thursday, Nov. 10 at 10 p.m. ET

After a road worker falls into a giant opening and is taken by a vicious burrowing creature, the ARC team are called in to investigate. Matt recognizes these burrowing creatures from his home era in the future and is determined to destroy them before they cause more damage and loss of life. Meanwhile, Philip introduces Connor to a new project and assigns Connor a new lab assistant, April, to keep an eye on him.

As revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, the Season 6B premiere of DOCTOR WHO rockets back to Earth on Saturday, August 27 at 8 p.m. ET, two months earlier than planned.

Once again, SPACE is delivering the next season of the recharged DOCTOR WHO series along with the rest of the world, and now the series is also available in full sublimity on SPACE HD.

This season sees the return of Matt Smith as 11th Timelord and Karen Gillan as his feisty partner in time, Amy Pond. Behind the scenes, award-winning writer Steven Moffat, returns as the lead writer and executive producer.

The emotionally charged Season 6A finale of DOCTOR WHO confirmed the series as the most-watched in the history of SPACE among total viewers. The entire season drew an average audience of 520,000 total viewers, setting the new record. The season 6A finale, “A Good Man Goes To War”, was #1 among adult viewers (18-49 and 25-54) across all specialty television networks for the night.

Before the new season takes off, fans can travel back in time and catch up on the first half of this season with a DOCTOR WHO Season 6A marathon. The marathon beings Saturday, August 27 at 1 p.m. ET and leads into to the early mid-season premiere at 8 p.m. ET on SPACE and SPACE HD. Viewers can also catch up with The Doctor with encore viewings on SPACECAST.com.

The season finale of DOCTOR WHO captured hearts, minds and viewers on Saturday night, winning its timeslot and boosting the series to become the most-watched in the history of SPACE, among total viewers.

With the season now wrapped, The Doctor and his time-travelling TARDIS drew an average audience of 495,000 total viewers for Season 6A to set the new record. The episode, “A Man Goes To War”, was #1 among adult viewers (18-49 and 25-54) across all specialty television networks for the night. 

When compared to Season 5, Season 6A of DOCTOR WHO has seen a 28% total audience increase, 53% among adults 25-54, 49% among adults 18-49, 44% for females 25-54 and a 45% increase in female viewers, 18-49. 

In “A Good Man Goes To War”, Amy is kidnapped and The Doctor declares war on those responsible, assembling an army of allies to recover her. Meanwhile, River Song realizes that the Doctor’s darkest hour has come and she must reveal her greatest secret to the Time Lord. The Season 6A finale is now available for viewing on spacecast.com. DOCTOR WHO returns this Fall to SPACE.
