Astral Media Inc. announced that Disney XD, Astral’s newest kids service and the French-language Disney Junior are now available on Cogeco Cable.

Disney XD debuts to Ontario Cogeco Digital subscribers as part of a three-month preview on channel 99 while the preschool network, available to Quebec-based subscribers, is available on channel 89, also part of a free preview.

The launches of both of these networks form part of the long-term renewal agreement between Astral and Cogeco Cable for Astral’s movie and kids services.

Top competitors, favourite characters and classic superheroes lead the way on Disney XD this December as the network stocks up on programming treats for the holidays.

With the season finale of the reality series Fort Boyard – Ultimate Challenge, a special animated Marvel Mornings lineup and very merry movies, Disney XD is spreading holiday cheer on-air, OnDemand and online all month-long.

Disney XD is stuffing weekends with feature-length network premieres. Beginning Saturday, December 3, Blockbuster titles join the schedule each weekend at 7:30 p.m. ET leading up to Christmas Eve. Titles include The Shaggy Dog (December 3), Eight Below (December 9) and Inspector Gadget (December 17).

On December 9 at 7:30 p.m. ET, audiences can enjoy the network premiere of the holiday Pair of Kings episode, “Pair of Santas,” while on Saturday, December 10, viewers can catch the thrilling one-hour season one, part one finale of the reality series Fort Boyard – Ultimate Challenge at 8:00 p.m. ET. Leading into the finale, beginning at 4:00 p.m., is a four-hour marathon that will recount the challenges encountered in the past eight episodes. In the finale, two teams face off for their final series of challenges but only one team can claim the title of ‘Conquerors of Fort Boyard.’ On December 11, there is ‘snow’ problem with festive stunts in a holiday episode of Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil premiering at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Disney XD heats up the special seasonal schedule with marathons of the network’s hottest series from December 26 to January 6. Each weekday afternoon beginning at 4:00 p.m. ET, it’s five and a half hours of amped-up action from series including Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil, Pair of Kings, Kickin’ It, Phineas and Ferb, Zeke and Luther and I’m In The Band. On Monday, January 2, as part of a five hour Phineas and Ferb marathon, Disney XD will air an encore of the smash-hit movie based on the series, Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.

With mutants, radioactive spider bites and world famous villains, Disney XD powers-up the weekday morning lineup with Marvel Mornings from 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. ET. From December 26 through January 6, kids will wake up to Marvel heroes including Iron Man, X-Men, Gargoyles and Spiderman.

Throughout the month of December, viewers are also invited to visit DisneyXD.ca to get into the holiday spirit with new winter-themed games based on top Disney XD series and cool contests with the chance to win great gear and a trip to the Winter 2012 X Games in Aspen, Colorado. Disney XD OnDemand will be loaded up with holiday-themed episodes to make the season’s tidings last well into the New Year.

Astral Media Inc. (TSX: ACM.A/ACM.B) today announced a deal that will have programming from its multi-platform brand Disney XD available on the Xbox 360 console through Xbox LIVE, the premium online entertainment service for Xbox 360.

One of the first kids entertainment brands to make content available to Canadian families through Xbox LIVE, Disney XD will offer a sampling lineup that includes popular titles such as Phineas and Ferb, Kickin’ It and What’s Up, Warthogs!. Programming will be available concurrent upon launch of the service this winter.

From Ferbenstein to the Ghost of Mr. Martin, Disney XD is home to creatures of all varieties this Halloween season. October brings three mysterious marathons, special episodes and scary movies to the network’s schedule, making Disney XD home of the haunts all month long.

Disney XD delivers nine consecutive Phineas and Ferb episodes in a monster-filled marathon on October 15 beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET. The Lake Nose Monster, the Wizard of Odd and a middle-aged robot all make appearances in the marathon leading to the premiere of a new episode at 

7:00 p.m. ET. Anna Paquin and Michael J. Fox lend their voices in “The Curse of Candace,” with Paquin voicing a girl obsessed with vampires and Fox paying tribute to Teen Wolf as Werewolf Michael. 

A new Halloween-themed episode of Kickin’ It airs Saturday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET concluding a 12-episode martial arts marathon of the series that begins at 2:00 p.m. ET. In the new episode entitled “Boo Gi Nights,” it’s the mall’s annual Boo-Stravaganza and Bobby Wasabi’s students are on high alert for the Black Dragons who always wreak havoc on the event.

Later in the month Disney XD’s got two back-to-back Mondays featuring Monster Mayhem Marathons. Beginning on October 24 at 3:00 p.m. ET, Halloween-themed episodes will air for the rest of the day including new episodes from Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil and Pair of Kings. Continuing on October 31, spine-chilling episodes begin at 6:00 a.m. ET and continue until 3:00 a.m. ET the following day. 

Making their debut on Disney XD, the Halloweentown series of films will also air throughout the month. Following Marnie, Dylan and Sophie Piper as they embark on adventures with their mother and grandmother, the three young sorcerers learn how to use their magical powers and take on Kalabar, the evil mayor of Halloweentown. The series includes: Halloweentown, Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge, Halloweentown III: Halloween High and Return to Halloweentown.

DisneyXD.ca treats viewers to new activities and games throughout October. The Monster Mash-up Logo Lab allows visitors to create their own Halloween-themed Disney XD logos. Once finished, logos can be submitted for a chance to appear on air during one of the Monster Mayhem Marathons. Viewers can also try their hand at challenging games including Pair of King’s Dark Island Adventures and Zombie Dojo from Kickin’ It.

Disney XD OnDemand also supports the spooky spirit in October when it hosts the episodes from all three Halloween marathons. Beginning October 18, viewers can catch the monstrous Phineas and Ferb episodes and select episodes from the Monster Mayhem Marathons will be available as of October 25 – just in time for Halloween.

Two new shows from Disney premiere on Family along with new episodes from hit Disney and Canadian series.

On Disney Junior, younger viewers will delight in the fall premiere of a new season of the award-winning Canadian animated series Stella and Sam, as well as the debut of new short-form programming starring Minnie Mouse.

Family Channel

On Family, the big city awaits a small-town girl in the new live-action comedy from Disney Channel, Jessie, airing a sneak peek episode on September 30 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Starring Debby Ryan (The Suite Life on Deck), Jessie follows a starry-eyed teen from rural Texas who moves to New York City to explore what exists outside her familiar life. She soon finds herself living in a multi-million dollar penthouse as nanny to a high-profile couple’s four children, one of their imaginary friends and a seven foot Asian Water Monitor lizard named Mr. Kippling. New episodes of Jessie will continue to air Fridays at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT from October 14.

Also from Disney Channel, PrankStars makes its debut on Family at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT on September 30. The reality series is hosted by Mitchel Musso (Pair of Kings) as he directs pranks live from a covert mobile command centre. Stars including Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place) and China Anne McClain (A.N.T. Farm) surprise their fans when unsuspecting tweens and teens are set up by family members and come face to face with their favourite celebrities. The series will air throughout the fall.

The second season of Disney’s buddy comedy series Shake It Up shimmies onto Family this fall beginning October 10. CeCe Jones and Rocky Blue, two high-spirited best friends, have mastered the latest dance styles and navigated the backstage antics of their frenemies, but balancing responsibilities at home and school all while appearing as background dancers in “Shake It Up, Chicago!” is keeping the girls on their toes. Viewers can catch new episodes of Shake It Up on Fridays at 6:00 p.m. ET/PT from October 14.

New episodes of the hit Canadian comedy Wingin’ It air on Family on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. ET/PT from September 24. The series follows angel-in-training Porter Jackson (Demetrius Joyette, The Latest Buzz, Roxy Hunter) as he helps Carl Montclaire (Dylan Everett) become the most popular student at Bennett High.


Disney Junior

Premiering this fall on Disney Junior, the multi-award winning Canadian series Stella and Sam returns for a second season beginning in October. As they explore the world in all its seasons, siblings Stella and Sam encounter backyard quests and imaginative adventures. This animated series is based on the popular books by Canadian author and illustrator Marie-Louise Gay.

Younger viewers can follow the comings and goings in the new animated short-form series Minnie’s Bow-Toons when it joins the Disney Junior schedule in November. Starring Minnie Mouse, the series is based on the comedic happenings at Minnie’s Bow-Tique Hotel. On any given day, Minnie acts as hostess, party planner, chef, fashion consultant, riding instructor or tour guide, with Daisy Duck taking on the role of a very chatty front desk clerk.


Disney XD

Launched on June 1, Disney XD delivers the best in comedy and action series with programming that focuses on adventure, discovery, sports and achievement. Fall brings a new season of the high-octane animated series, Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil. The Disney XD series follows an extraordinary kid determined to become the world’s greatest daredevil. Small in stature but big in heart, Kick makes the most out of his suburban surroundings and takes on every stunt with unwavering enthusiasm. Season two of the show premieres on September 5 at 5:30 p.m. ET during a full-day marathon on Disney XD beginning at 11:00 a.m. ET. New episodes of Kick Buttowski – Suburban Daredevil will air on Sundays at 8:30 p.m. ET from September 11.

The second season of the Canadian original production Connor Undercover premieres on Disney XD on September 25 at 3:30 p.m. ET. Fifteen-year-old Connor Heath’s world is rocked when a beautiful president’s daughter is sent to live with his family. The two teens must scheme to figure out the mystery that’s taken over their lives – if they can only figure out how to get along first! New episodes air Sundays at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Disney XD delivers a knock-out night of comedic action on Saturday, July 2 with the premiere of the brand new martial arts-themed sitcom Kickin’ It at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Adding to the hilarious summer schedule are two season premieres on Disney XD: Zeke and Luther makes its third season debut Saturday, July 2 at 6:30 p.m. ET and the majestic hit Pair of Kings returns for season two with back-to-back episodes on Saturday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The new Disney XD Original Series Kickin’ It follows hotshot skateboarder Jack who joins the underperforming Bobby Wasabi Martial Arts Academy and teaches a crew of awkward and uncoordinated students about life, karate and how to just plain kick it. The series premieres on Disney XD on Saturday, July 2 at 7:30 p.m. ET. In the premiere episode “Fat Chance,” the gang discovers their school janitor is a former sumo wrestler and they arrange a comeback match so he can prove he’s still got what it takes.

The series stars Jason Earles (Hannah Montana) as Rudy, accomplished martial artist Leo Howard (Leo Little’s Big Show) as Jack, Mateo Arias (Cold Case) as Jerry, Dylan Riley Snyder (Disney’s Broadway Musical Tarzan) as Milton, Alex Christian Jones as Eddie and Olivia Holt (Black & Blue) as Kim. Kickin’ It was created by Jim O’Doherty (Grounded for Life). He, along with Marc Warren (JONAS L.A., Cory in the House) serves as executive producer. Joey Scott (Growing Pains) is the producer.

Ahead of Kickin’ It on July 2, viewers will find the turbocharged third season premiere of the hit buddy comedy series Zeke and Luther airing at 6:30 p.m. ET. Skateboarding best friends Zeke and Luther turn pro and embark on the ride of their lives. In the premiere episode the boys are thrilled to help their daredevil idol, Bobby Dicey, prepare for the stunt of a lifetime. But after Bobby is injured, Zeke and Luther are left with more responsibility than they expected.

Also making its debut this July is the second season of Pair of Kings on Saturday, July 9 at 6:30 p.m. ET. In the two-part premiere titled “Kings of Legend,” Boomer and Brady accidentally bring an ancient evil statue to life while trying to prove that they are the infamous Kings of Legend. With the Island of Kinkow in danger, the twins concede the throne to Lanny and depart on a balloon voyage back to Chicago.

Earlier in the day beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET, in a lineup that’s truly fit for a king, Disney XD rolls out an eight-episode mini-marathon featuring episodes from season one so that viewers can catch up with the royal raucous ahead of the premiere.
