Just days after Dexter bagged actress Julia Stiles for its next season, the show has signed further talent.

Actress Maria Doyle Kennedy and actor Shawn Hatosy will both appear on the show next season.

Kennedy, who may be familiar from The Tudors, will join Dexter next season in a recurring role as an Irish nanny hired by Dexter (Michael C. Hall).

Meanwhile Hatosy of Southland fame has signed on for an arc but his character details are not confirmed yet. Although a source has claimed he will play a villain.

Dexter returns later this year.

Julia Stiles has confirmed she will be joining the cast of Dexter for the next season.

The actress has signed on to appear in ten episodes of the series and is described as playing “a mysterious young woman who forms a unique relationship with Dexter (Michael C. Hall).”

The fifth season begins shooting this month.

The latest word from Entertainment Weekly is that Julia Stiles is close to landing a role on Dexter for next season.

It has been confirmed that the actress is in advanced talks with the shows execs in relation to a role on the hit series.

The exact details of the proposed role are not out yet but whatever it is it will be a major part of the series.

If she lands the role, it will be Stiles first major foray into television.

While looking into a series of suicides of high profile, powerful women, Dexter realizes a pattern: they all saw the same psychiatrist. Dexter goes into stalk mode and becomes a patient of the therapist to ascertain whether or not he is the killer that he seems to be.

Dexter receives a registered letter that informs him that his biological father has recently died. This comes as a shock, because Harry, Dexter’s adoptive father, had told Dexter that his real father had died over 30 years ago. As Dexter takes off to reconnect to his shadowy past, Rita decides to come along to help him make it through the weekend.
