Mac investigates a groom murdered on his wedding day, found stuffed and wrapped like a wedding present. Stella finds a box of bloody puzzle pieces left on her car, which sends Mac home to Chicago to solve the biggest mystery of his life.

CTV’s primetime line up delivered more than one million viewers watching in each hour of primetime Wednesday night. In the end, CTV Inc. won every hour in all key demos:

NHL on TSN drew 1.2 million viewers as the Senators and Leafs renewed hostilities in their Season Opener. The game… peaked at 1.5 million viewers in the last 13 minutes, is the 6th highest game in TSN’s history and was the No. 1 program of the night in Toronto/Hamilton with 488,000 viewers.

Private Practice on CTV peaked in its last half hour with 1.324 million viewers and drew an average audience of 1.225 million viewers. Head-to-head from 8-8:30 p.m., Private Practice…beat the season premiere of Little Mosque on the Prairie (794,000 – CBC) by 42%, attracted 25% more viewers than Back to You (Global/FOX), which dropped for its third straight week to 898,000 viewers, was the No. 1 show in its time period in both Toronto/Hamilton and Vancouver.

Criminal Minds on CTV was the one to beat at 9 p.m., winning the night with 2.1 million viewers and 1.1 million viewers among A18-49. Criminal Minds… nearly tripled the audience of Bones (752,000 – Global/FOX) nationally, was the most-watched non-sports program of the night in Toronto/Hamilton and Vancouver, was nearly three times stronger in Toronto (+190%) and more than double the speed in Vancouver (+140%) of Bionic Woman on NBC/E!

CSI: New York on CTV became the second most-watched show of the night with nearly 2 million viewers (1,952,000). CSI: New York…head-to-head, attracted more than three times the audience as Life (532,000) on Global/NBC, which dropped 25% compared to its season premiere last week, was the No. 2, non-sports program in Toronto/Hamilton and Vancouver following Criminal Minds
