Laurence Fishburne will stay with hit crime drama CSI for at least another season.

The actor has renewed his contract for CSI: Crime Scene Investigation meaning he will continue shooting episodes throughout the 2010-11 season.

The Emmy Award-winner joined the CBS show in 2008 following the departure of William Petersen, debuting on the ninth episode of the ninth season as college professor Dr Raymond Langston.

Since his arrival the show has continued to do well in the US, performing well in its primetime slot midweek on CBS.

Fishburne will also appear in the upcoming Predators reboot by director Robert Rodriguez and Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion alongside Matt Damon and Jude Law.

As everyone’s favourite CTV series return to the fall schedule, viewers will have the chance to walk in the shoes of their beloved characters as CTV announced today the launch of its new “Live the Drama” contest.

Created exclusively by the CTV Creative Agency, the interactive promotion gives fans the opportunity to “live the drama” by completing “missions” inspired by some their favourite CTV series, all for a shot at one of five grand prizes including a trip to the set of Grey’s Anatomy.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Canadian viewers to win exclusive trips to the sets of their beloved television shows,” said Susanne Boyce, President, Creative, Content and Channels, CTV Inc. “With such a fun contest, We can’t wait to see what creative ideas our viewers come up with in order to win these exclusive prizes.”

CTV is promoting the “Live The Drama” contest with a 30-second promo on-air and at CTV.ca, encouraging viewers to sign up and receive a “mission” every two weeks relating to CTV’s primetime lineup. The quests are related to five of CTV’s hit series including Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, “ER” and Dancing With the Stars. Each mission will ask participants to upload either a very specific photo or video of themselves to a show-related gallery and the public will be able to vote for their favourites.

Entries will be narrowed down to the top five per show, selected by viewer votes, and the final winners will then be chosen by a panel of CTV judges. There will also be 10 bi-weekly prizes per show awarded based on a random draw for all entrants.

The five grand prizes include VIP treatment at the final wrap party of ER, a CSI: Crime Scene Investigation set visit and “victim makeover” by the show’s special effects makeup artist, an opportunity to attend a live taping of Dancing With the Stars, including a private dance lesson with one of the choreographers, a Desperate Housewives wardrobe tour and shopping spree and the first-ever Grey’s Anatomy set visit.

The campaign supports an exciting fall schedule which includes top-rated returning series Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, ER and Dancing With the Stars.
