chopped_logoCanada is getting its own version of the popular culinary competition format Chopped.

Shaw Media announced the news today that they will be developing a series for Food Network Canada to premiere in winter 2014.

A nationwide casting call has gone out for Chopped Canada also.

The original Chopped series has consistently been a top performing series on Food Network in Canada since premiering in 2009, continually ranking as a top 10 program on the schedule.

The Canadian edition promises to follow a similar formula to the original series, featuring four chefs per episode who must beat the clock to create a dish using a basket full of mystery ingredients. Continue reading »

As of today, the channel will be available in High-Definition for the first time ever through Shaw Cable.

The channel will continue to feature the best in food-centric entertaining programming that is now more vivid with a clear and true-to-life picture quality.

Food Network HD will be available on free preview to Shaw Cable customers on channel 232 through November 30th.
