Citytv’s charitable initiative continues with BT and CityNews Spirit of the Season, live from the Sheraton Centre Toronto, Friday December 19, 2008. Live coverage begins at 6:00am ET on Breakfast Television and continues throughout the day on CityNews at Noon, CityNews at Five and CityNews at Six.

Want to spread some holiday cheer in support of a good cause? Come on down to the Sheraton Centre Toronto and take part in BT and CityNews Spirit of the Season benefiting Daily Bread Food Bank. The fun starts bright and early with a live broadcast of Toronto’s number one morning show Breakfast Television from the lobby of the Sheraton Centre Toronto. Special guests will join Kevin Frankish, Dina Pugliese, Jennifer Valentyne and Frank Ferragine in singing some classic holiday tunes. We’ll have seasonal cooking demonstrations, face painting and great giveaways. Plus, the day wouldn’t be complete without a visit from Santa Claus himself! And stay tuned as CityNews will be coming to you live from the Sheraton Centre at 12pm, 5pm and 6pm!

Viewers are encouraged to bring a donation of nutritious non-perishable food items for Daily Bread Food Bank. Some of the most needed items include; peanut butter, baby food and formula, canned fish and canned meats. Monetary contributions are also accepted in the form of cash or cheque.

Five households across the GTA will, literally, wake-up with “BT-BreakfastTelevision” as we broadcast live from their own backyards! Tune in to Citytv’s “BreakfastTelevision” the week of June 9th as we get to know your neighbours.

Five lucky homeowners will become the envy of their respective blocks as “BT’s” Jennifer Valentyne broadcasts live from a different home each day starting Monday, June 9th. The fun doesn’t stop there; not only will the selected families get to hang out with Jennifer and the Live Eye crew, they will also receive a beautiful patio set courtesy of DOT Patio and Home. On Friday June 13th, the entire “BT” gang — Kevin Frankish, Dina Pugliese, Jennifer Valentyne and Frank Ferragine will be live on location with our grand prize winner. Winners were selected from entries submitted during an online promotion at citytv.com.
