Bigg Boss

It’s survival of Bollywood’s fittest, loudest and boldest when the fifth season of hit Indian reality series Bigg Boss premieres on OMNI Television, Sunday, Oct. 16.

With 14 celebrity contestants living together with no connection to the outside world, the Bigg Boss house is not an ordinary reality show mansion. Filmed in Karjat, India, the fifth season of Bigg Boss premieres on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 3:30pm ET on OMNI.2, 9am MT on OMNI Alberta and 11am PT on OMNI BC.

Following the Big Brother format, Bigg Boss is a weekly, three-hour reality series that follows 14 celebrity contestants living together in one house with 55 cameras filming their every move. With no connection to the outside world for 100 days, these contestants are overseen by a mysterious person known as Bigg Boss, whose only presence in the house is his voice. With no television, phones, internet, clocks, or even pens and paper, the house mates are permitted to speak only in Hindi. Every week, Bigg Boss calls the contestants into a confession room where they must nominate two of their fellow housemates. The two – and sometimes three – players with the most votes are put up for a public vote via phone and text message. Then, the contestant with the least amount of votes is evicted.

Developed in India, the fifth season of this hit reality series is bigger, bolder and louder than ever. Hosted by Bollywood stars Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, the contestants range from a celebrity transgender, beauty pageant winner, actors, models, singers, the ex wife of a serial killer and more. With one male and 13 females the 14 housemates are Shakti Kapoor, Pooja Bedi, Shonali Nagrani, Nihita Biswas, Shradha Sharma, Mandeep Bevli, Raageshwari Loomba, Vida Samdazai, Mahek Chahal, Sonika Kaliraman, Pooja Mishra, Gulabo Sapera, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi and Juhi Parmar.
