Comedian Patton Oswalt is out of his co-starring role in new NBC comedy pilot Beach Lane only days after he was cast.
On Monday this week the news came of Oswalt’s inclusion in the cast of the new pilot alongside Kristen Johnston and Matthew Broderick. He was set to play James, a slacker with inherited wealth who’s given the job of running a small newspaper in the Hamptons. He hires a renowned journalist (Broderick) to help turn around the paper.
Reports are saying the producers of the show are offering Oswalt another part but it is unclear whether or not he will stay in the show.
Beach Lane is created by Paul Simms (“Bored to Death,” “The Larry Sanders Show”) and produced by Lorne Michaels and Marci Klein.
