Axis of Evil Comedy Tour

Get Ready to Feast on the Middle East! Axis of Evil Comedy Tour Premieres October 27 on The Comedy Network

— Featuring stand-up from comedians Maz Jobrani, Ahmed Ahmed, Aron Kader and Dean Obeidallah —

Toronto, Ontario (October 22, 2007) – Few people laugh when they think of the Middle East. However, that’s all about to change when the Axis of Evil Comedy Tour premieres Saturday, October 27 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, exclusively on The Comedy Network. Get ready for some serious laughter when four hysterical comedians, all of Middle Eastern descent, join together for this groundbreaking one-hour stand-up special that is so not your evening news!

Ever wonder what people from the Middle East think about Americans? Here’s a chance for viewers to find out! From the OC Pavilion in Orange County, California, comedians Maz Jobrani, Ahmed Ahmed and Aron Kader, along with special guest Dean Obeidallah, join forces to bridge the cultural gap and entertain comedy fans in this outrageous special. Watch as these four laffers of the Levant take on a variety of topics from American paranoia and gay terrorists to flying in post 9/11 America and the cultural divide.

Here’s Ahmed’s take on the similarities (and difference) between Muslims and Jews:

“Both Jews and Muslims have more in common than any religion ever. Both don’t eat pork, we don’t celebrate Christmas … we both yell on the phone when there’s no emergency… The only difference between Muslims and Jews is that Jews never like to spend any money and Muslims never have any money to spend.”

If the best comedy is truth telling with an edge, no four men are sharper or have a more pointed view on today’s society and finding a place in a vast, often suspicious and unfriendly America, than the comics in Axis of Evil Comedy Tour.

Axis of Evil Comedy Tour features Iranian-American comedian, Maz Jobrani (The Knights of Prosperity, The Interpreter), Egyptian-American comedian, Ahmed Ahmed (Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show), Palestinian-American comedian Aron Kader (Premium Blend, The Shield) with special guest Arab-American comedian, Dean Obeidallah (Creator of the New York Arab Comedy Festival and The Watch List).
