adamlambertGlee has booked American Idol alum Adam Lambert for its upcoming season.

Showrunner Ryan Murphy announced the news on Wednesday, saying: “I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall.”

There are no details yet as to what character Lambert will be playing or whether it will be a regular or recurring role.

Minaj posted on twitter this morning: “Thank you American Idol for a life changing experience! Wouldn’t trade it for the world! Time to focus on the Music!!! Mmmuuuaahhh!!!”

NZ-born Keith Urban is now the only judge left on the panel from this year and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if he is next to vacate his seat.

AmericanIdol2013Mariah Carey has joined Randy Jackson in the exodus from American Idol.

The singer has spent only one season on the show, after being part of the refresher that saw Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler depart and Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith urban join the judging panel.

Carey’s PR firm tweeted the news: “W/ global success of “#Beautiful” (#1 in 30+ countries so far) @MariahCarey confirms world tour & says goodbye 2 Idol.”

Jackson was the last remaining member of the original judging panel that consisted of Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul.

“Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on American Idol I have decided it is time to leave after this season,” he told E! News. “I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.”

KellyClarksonKelly Clarkson will make a return to American Idol next week.

The first ever winner of the talent show will appear on stage to perform on next week’s results episode.
