Pump Up The Volume! Artists Announced for the 2007 American Music Awards, This Sunday on A-Channel

— Canadians Avril Lavigne and Celine Dion set to perform during live broadcast Nov. 18 —

Get ready to move to the music as Mary J. Blige, Jonas Brothers, Lenny Kravitz, Queen Latifah, Rascal Flatts and Sugarland join the already sizzling line-up of performers on the 2007 American Music Awards, this Sunday, Nov. 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, live on A-Channel (visit achannel.ca to confirm local broadcast times). Canadian punk-pop sensation Avril Lavigne and legendary songstress Celine Dion will also perform during the live broadcast. Music’s biggest night also features performances by Chris Brown, will.i.am and Duran Duran with a special appearance by Beyoncé.

In addition to performing, Avril Lavigne is also nominated for “Favourite Female Artist: Pop/Rock”. Her most recent album The Best Damn Thing debuted at the top of U.S. charts, with her smash-hit single “Girlfriend” reaching #1 in North America. Lavigne is joined by fellow Canadian Celine Dion, whose newest CD Taking Chances was released earlier this week, on the AMA stage. Dion, who has won seven American Music Awards, has sold over 200 million albums worldwide.

Three-time American Music Award winner Alicia Keys and former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger are also slated to perform along with Fergie, Rihanna, and rock group Daughtry, fronted by former American Idol competitor Chris Daughtry.

The star-studded show will also feature appearances by Akon, Christina Applegate, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, James Blunt, Miley Cyrus, Matt Dallas, Fabolous, Kirk Franklin, Josh Groban, Tony Hawk, Vanessa Hudgens, Lyfe Jennings, Sean Kingston, Solange Knowles, Kellie Pickler, Ryan Seacrest, Slash, Gene Simmons, Snoop Dogg, Jordin Sparks, Taylor Swift, Ashley Tisdale, Blair Underwood, Carrie Underwood, Usher, Scott Weiland, Justin Chambers and Chyler Leigh.
