Mary Murphy is best know as the “Queen of Scream” on the U.S. version of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE. Her infectious laugh and “Maryisms” like “Hot Tamale Train” have helped make the show a smash hit around the world. In fact, Murphy beat out a star-studded field, including Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Ann Inaba and Donald Trump to claim the Best Host/Judge prize at the 2007 Reality TV Awards.

Murphy is also an in-demand film and television star, appearing in such films as Dance With Me, with Vanessa Williams, and the thriller Killer Movie with Kaley Cuoco and J.C. Chasez.

The Gemini Award-winning host of the smash hit SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA, Leah Miller, who is also a correspondent for ETALK, has come a long way from the audition that landed her a job with Canada’s flagship music station, MuchMusic.

As a five-time host of the MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS and former co-host of MUCHONDEMAND, Miller has chatted with some of the hottest celebrities around, including Halle Berry, Matthew McConaughey, Kanye West, Rhianna, Hilary Duff, Malin Akerman, Jason Segal, and Paul Rudd. Miller was also recently named one of Flare’s 30 most inspiring, newsworthy women to watch.

As host of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA, Miller leads viewers through the dancer’s journey as she gets up close and personal with the competitors during the audition process and stands by their sides as they face the judges during the live shows.

Blake McGrath

Blake McGrath - Judge

Originally from Mississauga, Ontario, Blake McGrath returns as judge and choreographer for Season 3. Currently residing in Los Angeles, McGrath continues to take the entertainment industry by storm.

At the age of 26, McGrath has already shared the stage with Madonna, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey and more. Best known for his memorable appearances on the first season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE in the United States where he was a finalist, McGrath has also appeared on Jennifer Lopez’s TV series Dance Life.

McGrath’s film credits include the Academy Award-winning film Chicago and the musical Rent. McGrath also has extensive commercial experience, appearing in commercials for Gap, Old Navy, Pepsi, Hummer and iPod, to name a few.

Luther Brown is returning for the third season as judge and choreographer. Brown made his mark during the first season with his hard-hitting hip-hop choreography and no holds barred comments from behind the judge’s desk, and continued to create memorable routines throughout Season 2.

His creative, trendsetting and innovative vision has transformed the formerly unknown Toronto urban dance community into a thriving industry. As the founder and owner of Do Dat Entertainment, he created a movement that linked Toronto to the ever-growing entertainment segment of the United States.

As one of the most sought-out choreographers in North America today, his work has been featured in over 100 music videos for artists including Diddy, Janet Jackson, Brandy, Shawn Desman, FeFe Dobson, Jully Black, Danny Fernandes, and more.

Returning as a SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA judge for a third season, Tré Armstrong is looking forward to finding Canada’s next favourite dancer. Armstrong’s dance school technical training in ballet and jazz alongside her unique flare for urban street dance shaped her into the multi-talented dancer, actress and choreographer she is today.

She has appeared on TOP O THE POPS, CANADIAN IDOL, BET’s 106 & PARK and The MTV Video Music Awards. Celebrities Armstrong has worked with (but not limited to) include: Rihanna, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jay-Z, Hilary Duff, Missy Elliot and Jason Derulo.

Jean Marc Genereux

Jean Marc Genereux - Judge

Returning as a SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA judge for a third season, Quebec’s Jean Marc Genereux began dancing at age 10 with his partner, and now wife, France Mousseau, and within six years the pair had won every Regional and State Championship.

In the early 1980’s they began dancing the International style of ballroom dance and won multiple competitions and all the Major Championships in North America, participating in 10 World Championships as the first representatives for Canada. Genereux and Mousseau turned professional in 1987 and have danced in every major city around the world from Asia and Australia to Europe and America. In 12 years they won over 200 competitions.

CTV announces Fall 2010 Premiere Dates

CTV announced today the Fall premiere dates for the season’s sure-fire new hits and returning favourites.

Premiere Week hits full swing starting Monday, Sept. 20 as CTV kicks-off its powerhouse lineup - a fresh mix of comedy, drama and reality for prime-time, along with new shows in daytime and late-night.

With seven of TV’s top 10 shows airing on CTV last season*, the most-watched programs in Canada return to the network this Fall joined by dynamic new additions: LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES, BLUE BLOODS, THE DEFENDERS, $#*! MY DAD SAYS, and NO ORDINARY FAMILY.

Marking the return of Must-See Thursdays beginning Thursday, Sept. 23, CTV’s lineup is anchored by THE BIG BANG THEORY and features CSI, GREY’S ANATOMY and THE MENTALIST. Also featured during the blockbuster night is SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA when it moves to Thursdays for Results Episodes beginning Sept. 23 (performance episodes move to Wednesday night beginning Sept. 22). The third season of the hit Canadian series premieres on Sunday, August 15.

So You Think You Can Dance Canada spins into Season 3

After dancing its way into the hearts of millions of Canadian viewers, CTV’s Gemini Award-winning series SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA returns with its highly anticipated third season premiere on Sunday, August 15 at 9 p.m. ET on CTV, with encore episodes airing back-to-back beginning Saturday, August 21 on MuchMusic (visit CTV.ca and MuchMusic.com to confirm local broadcast times).

The premiere kicks off a week of audition episodes before the performances begin with the Top 20 on Monday, August 23 at 9 p.m. ET, followed by the results on Tuesday, August 24 at 8:30 p.m. ET on CTV.

The series then moves to Wednesday night performance episodes and Thursday night results episodes beginning September 22 and 23.

Blake McGrath makes the move to music on MuchOnDemand

Blake McGrath has added singer to his resumé. The Canadian dancer, choreographer, entrepreneur and SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA judge drops by MUCHONDEMAND on Wednesday, May 19 at 5 p.m. ET.

Blake chats with MuchMusic VJ Sarah Taylor about his venture into the music industry and the video for his first single “The Night” off his debut album Time To Move scheduled for release in September.

Since he burst onto the dance scene as a finalist on the first season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, McGrath continues to take the entertainment industry by storm. At the young age of 24, McGrath has already shared the stage with Madonna, Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey and more. McGrath has also appeared on Jennifer Lopez’s TV series DANCE LIFE.

Final Two Stops for So You Think You Can Dance Canada Season 3 Audition Tour

With three stops already complete on the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA Season 3 audition tour, CTV today announced the two remaining locations on the cross-country tour. The audition tour will spin into Halifax on Saturday, March 6 at the Bella Rose Arts Centre before it wraps up at the final stop in Calgary on Saturday, March 13 at the MacEwan Conference and Event Centre (University of Calgary), giving dancers two more opportunities to perform in front of the judges and prove that they have what it takes to become Canada’s next Favourite Dancer.
