CTV News coverage begins at the crack of dawn with OLYMPIC MORNING. Airing from 6 a.m. – 12 noon ET every day, OLYMPIC MORNING is the Olympic Games morning show, bringing viewers exclusive Vancouver 2010 news as well stories from across Canada and international stories from around the world. CTV News Announces the Top 10 Canadian News Stories of 2009

Canada’s ongoing recession, the swine flu, the Afghan mission, and the collapse of the car industry topped CTV News’s list of Canadian news stories this year. The Top 10 Canadian News Stories were selected by a panel of journalists led by CTV News’ Chief Anchor and Senior Editor Lloyd Robertson. Beginning on Wednesday, December 23, CTV NATIONAL NEWS WITH LLOYD ROBERTSON features in-depth reports on each of the Top 10 Canadian News stories every night leading up to New Year’s Day. CTV’s team of top correspondents will take a closer look at each of the major stories, reporting on recent developments and examining the impact they will have on Canadians in the upcoming year. These reports will also air the following day on CTV News Channel.

The Olympic Torch in Toronto Live on CTV News

CTV Toronto and CP24 mark the arrival of the Olympic Torch in Toronto with unprecedented live coverage of the relay, runners, events, and festivities as the Olympic flame ignites Canada’s largest city. The coverage culminates in a live two-hour CTV News special, THE TORCH IN TORONTO, to be simulcast on CTV Toronto and CP24 this Thursday, Dec. 17 beginning at 5 p.m. ET.

Coverage of the Olympic Torch begins at 5:30 a.m. with CP24 BREAKFAST tracking the progress of the flame as it enters Toronto via Oshawa, starting with the very first torchbearer of the day. All-day long, CP24 will deliver regular updates from the route as the Olympic Torch makes its way to Toronto’s famous Yonge Street for the journey into the core of the city.

CTV NEWS AT NOON will bring viewers up-to-date on the Olympic Torch Relay beginning at 12 noon, delivering highlights from the morning as well as an update on preparations for the evening’s celebrations.

CTV News Named Best Newscast at the RTNDA Atlantic Regional Awards Banquet

Toronto, ON (June 2, 2007) - CTV News has been named as the best local newscast in Atlantic Canada.
