HockeyNight2013Fashion will collide hockey on CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada during the next round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

In a special feature dubbed Fashion Night in Canada, the hockey crew will receive new looks courtesy of Canadian designers Christopher Bates, Farley Chatto, Haithem Elkadidi of KaaDiki, Marlon Durrant, Caitlin Power and Philip Sparks.

The exclusive new looks will be unveiled ahead of Game 4 of the Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Boston Bruins series on Friday, June 7 during the live pre-game show, Scotiabank Hockey Tonight, at 7:30 p.m. ET (4:30 p.m. PT). Continue reading »

Blake's 7Classic British sci-fi series Blake’s 7 is getting rebooted.

The series, which ran from 1978 to 1981 on BBC in the UK, will make a comeback with 13 new episodes thanks to FremantleMedia and American network Syfy.

New Zealand director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) will direct while Heroes and CSI writer Joe Pokaski will deliver the script.

The executive producers of the new American mini-series The Bible certainly don’t think so.

Mark Burnett and Roma Downey have said it is “utter nonsense” that the actor who plays the devil in the series was only cast because he was supposed to resemble the US president.

“This is utter nonsense,” Burnett and Downey said in a statement Monday. “The actor who played Satan, Mehdi Ouzaani, is a highly acclaimed Moroccan actor. He has previously played parts in several Biblical epics — including Satanic characters long before Barack Obama was elected as our President. Continue reading »

How I Met Your Mother will take on a Canadian feel for its February 4 episode thanks to a line-up of guest stars from north of the border.

The episode will see the return of Canadian character Robin’s (Cobie Smulders) alter-ego, Robin Sparkles, as well as guest turns from Canadians Alan Thicke, Jason Priestly, K.d. Lang and Alex Trebek.

The cast of one of the best short-lived comedy series on TV has staged a reunion twelve years after their show was cancelled.

The entire cast of the 1999 comedy series Freaks and Geeks has reunited to discuss their experience on the short-lived series, which ran for one brilliant season before it was given the axe.

The Judd Apatow-created series was heralded as being ahead of its time but faced strong opposition from its network, NBC, who eventually cut it.

Freaks and Geeks launched the careers of the likes of Seth Rogan, James Franco, Linda Cardellini, Busy Philipps and Jason Segel and the first season included bit parts from the likes of Shia LaBeouf, Rashida Jones, Lizzy Caplan and Ben Foster. Continue reading »

A heavy sigh went out from millions of viewers as they shared Sean Lowe’s heartbreak when Emily Maynard – who called him the “perfect man” – eliminated him before the finale of The Bachelorette’s eighth season.
