Ok, so there’s been a lot of hype surrounding the upcoming premiere of Defying Gravity, a new hit series from the creators of Grey’s Anatomy which is set to air on CTV. But fans of Grey’s Anatomy are about to find that the formula for the show isn’t so different from one that we are already familiar with. How? During scenes, the show is set to be narrated by one of the characters, who speaks in a context rich with metaphors; the male lead character on the show is said to sleep with one of his female students during a drunked one night stand. Ok, so the series takes place in space on a 6 year journey, and isn’t always shown in the presence, since a good part of the series focuses upon a flashback to times when the crew trained and came together both profesionally and romantically. But yes, overall, Defying Gravity sounds just like the Grey’s Anatomy of space.

Does that mean I won’t tune in? Probably not; sometimes it’s a case of if it’s not broke don’t fix it, and creators might just hit it out of the park again with this new series. But then again, Private Practice tried to follow a similar formula to its sister show, and that wasn’t a huge success, so I guess we’ll have to see.

It’s July, and Grey’s Anatomy fans are starting to wonder if Grey’s Anatomy has finally begun filming again…well, according to Shonda Rhimes, much of the cast was back on the set on July 15th to start filming the highly-anticipated season 6 of the hit show. She made the announcement on Twitter, and even posted a photo to prove that they were back on set!

Unfortunately for Meredith/Derek fans, the couple has not yet begun filming together for the season…but perhaps once they do we’ll find out once and for all how they’re going to handle Ellen Pompeo’s pregnancy which is quickly going to become increasingly challenging to conceal, even with strategically placed clip boards and billowing lab coats. Tricky camera angles might do it, however, there’s still that chance that her pregnancy or weight gain might be written into the show in some way or another!

With filming beginning, we’re finally on our way to the highly-anticipated premiere of season 6 and the end of speculation about the events that are going to unfold!

Sadie Harris brought drama, intrigue and tears to last season of Grey’s Anatomy, as Meredith’s former best friend and travel buddy. She gave viewers the chance to see a little bit of Meredith before she was a “responsible” resident at Seattle Grace and helped her realize that she had outgrown most of the habits that had formerly made them friends; well, with the exception of the tequila drinking, that one’s still a favorite.

So will Sadie Harris return to cause trouble in the halls of Seattle Grace, or were trial appendix operations and other botched doctoring duties enough for her to take her leave? According to actress Melissa George who played the character, Sadie’s already caused enough dammage and is not likely to return for another season.

Sadie Harris’ disappearance will mean yet another character loss for season 6 of Grey’s Anatomy, so perhaps we can expect to see a whole series of new interns to wreap havock on the halls of Seattle Grace!

Tonight is the big reveal; which celebrity will win on tonight’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here? Since last night, Patti Blogojevich was voted off the show after 23 days in the jungle, we know for sure it’s not going to be her! Patti Blogojevich may not have been a celebrity in the formal sense of the world, even amongst the D-List celebrities that have participated in the show.

Patti Blogojevich filled in on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here for her husband, former Governor Rod Blogojevich, who was banned from participating in the reality series by a judge. However, Patti as his replacement quickly became a favorite of the fans and her fellow celebrity contestants. Now that she’s out of the running, we’ll just have to see which of the remaining contestants wins the competition, with all proceeds from viewer donations going to a charity of their choice.

As Grey’s Anatomy fans are still speculating over the outcome of the season 5 fainle cliff hanger, we finally have no idea on when we might get some answers. According to ABC, the network that airs Grey’s Anatomy in the United States, the big season 6 premier of Grey’s will be Thursday, September 24th at 9pm! CTV will without a doubt be airing the big season 6 premier at the same time for Canadian fans.

We still don’t know specifically which cast members will be remaining on hand when season 6 of Grey’s Anatomy premiers, but we know that the fate of two characters still remains in question; namely Izzie Stevens and George O’Malley. There is one cast member, who hopes to become a season regular as of season 6; Jessica Capshaw who plays Dr. Arizona Robbins on the hit series. During an interview with Access Hollywood, Capshaw admitted that she has no more insight into what lies ahead for her character or other cast members on Grey’s Anatomy. “I will absolutely be quoted as saying Shonda Rhimes is an absolute genius because she doesn’t tell anyone anything,” Jessica said. “That’s actually very generous of her because she doesn’t want to burden us with knowing and not being able to tell you – or telling you!” the actress added.

So hold on, while the date has finally been announced, Grey’s Anatomy fans still have a while to wait to see what’s in store for season 6!

Fans of MTV’s series the Hills know that star Lauren Conrad has said that this season will be her last. After appearing on reality television since her high school days when she co-starred on another MTV series Laguna Beach, the reality TV star feels now is the time to shift her focus to her fashion career and take herself out of the constant spotlight. While MTV has yet to officially confirm whether the Hills will continue filming after Conrad’s departure from the series, there has been a great deal of speculation regarding who will replace her.

Further fueling these rumors this weekend at Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt’s church wedding was guest Kristin Cavallari. Formerly one of the highly spotlighted cast members of Laguna Beach, who filmed the series alongside Lauren Conrad, the former star has fallen off the radar. There have been rumors brewing for a while that Cavallari would make a guest appearance on the Hills, but after catching the wedding bouquet this weekend at the Speidi wedding (of course in front of the hills cameras) perhaps this is an indication of things to come.

While Cavallari does have connections to Lauren Conrad, and another Hills cast member, Lo Bosworth, outside of reality TV, the aspiring starlet should have no association with the other cast members of the hit MTV series. So, if we can’t expect to see more of her on the Hills, why was she at the wedding?

Will Kristen Cavallari replace Lauren Conrad on the Hills? And if not, who will it be?

If you’ve missed the big announcement, the big news is that Grey’s Anatomy Star, Ellen Pompeo is pregnant with her and husband Chris Ivery’s first child. For the actress, who is 39 years old, this is great news; but what will it mean for her character on Grey’s Anatomy?

Ellen’s co-star, Chyler Leigh, who plays her onscreen half-sister on the show, Lexi Grey is actually expecting her 3rd child in May and has filmed this whole season of Grey’s Anatomy without her pregnancy being written into the script; but a baby just wouldn’t have fit into the Lexi Grey/Mark Sloan plotline at this stage. Will Grey’s Anatomy producers take the same path with Ellen Pompeo’s pregnancy, using specific wardrobe choices and fancy camera angles to conceal the Grey’s Anatomy Star’s pregnancy, or will they take the opportunity to bring Meredith and Derek’s relationship to the next level?

Certainly, there are big changes in the works for the future of Grey’s Anatomy. Presumably once Derek and Meredith tie the knot (whether it occurs on the May 7th season finale or the next season of the show) they will give up their frat house lifestyle in exchange for a more traditional family living situation, won’t they? So then the next logical step might just be to start a family; but how would that change the show?

The buzz on the web goes both ways – some Grey’s Anatomy fans would like to see Mer and Der settle down into a more traditional relationship, while others feel it would hurt the show’s established plotlines that they’ve come to know and love.

Baby or no baby for Meredith and Derek, we’ll surely have to wait until next season to find out how producers will handle Ellen Pompeo’s pregnancy since she should just about be ready to pop by the time filming for the next season of Grey’s Anatomy begins.

Following the death of Edie Britt on last week’s episode of Desperate Housewives, where she experienced a very dramatic demise in an accident where she drives her car into a utility pole and is electrocuted, last night’s episode celebrated her life.

During last night’s episode, we saw a very different side to Edie Britt, as the perceptive helpful friend, rather than the villainess of Wisteria Lane as we’ve come to know her over the past three seasons of the hit show which airs on CTV in Canada. As it seems an odd time for new character development, it begs the question, will Edie Britt (Nicolette Sheridan) become the new voice of Desperate Housewives?

Fans of the show have witnessed character Mary Alice, who died in one of the very first episodes of Desperate Housewives take on the role of all-knowing narrator throughout the past 5 seasons; but during last night’s episode, Nicolette Sheridan did a great job with her narration; watching as her friends on Wisteria Lane took a look at her legacy. So, after 5 seasons have Desperate Housewives producers finally decided it’s time to change the voice of Desperate Housewives?

Tune in next week – Sunday at 9pm on CTV for an all new episode and find out if Nicolette Sheridan will be the new voice of Desperate Housewives.

Fans of CTV’s Grey’s Anatomy in Canada may finally see the end of one of the most predictable plotlines of the season, during an upcoming May 7th episode; according to a statement by producer of the hit show, Shonda Rhimes.

While wedding bells are definitely approaching on Grey’s Anatomy, producer Shonda Rhimes has neither confirmed or denied whether or not McDreamy and his resident sweetheart will finally get engaged and marry after a short engagement. While it may seem like the most predictable plotline of the season, as their on-again, off-again romance has remained much more on than off for a change. So, while wedding bells for Derek and Meredith may seem like the most obvious answer on Grey’s May 7th episode, Rhimes claims that the wedding bells may be ringing for one of Seattle Grace’s unexpected couples. Based on their relationship history of commitment issues, Meredith and Derek still may fit the bill. But, viewers might also prepare to see Hunt and Yang, or Alex and Izzie walk down the isle (the latter has my vote).

Rumor has it, that the big engagement between Derek and Meredith will air on CTV this Thursday at 9pm EST , following American Idol at 8pm. But as for the wedding bells, you’ll have to tune in!

Since the beginning of this season of American Idol, viewers have been hearing about the “Wildcard round”, but until recently, no information has been available about exactly what that means, and what involvement viewers will have in finalizing this season’s top 12.

This Wednesday, March 4th the first of the two wildcard episodes begin. Nine contestants will be chosen to compete for the wildcard, which will consist of the runners up with the highest votes from each round that were not voted into the top 12, and a few select picks from the judges will have the opportunity to compete as well. The last 3 contestants which will be voted into the top 12, will make the cut without any input from American Idol viewers; while previous voting numbers will count in their favor, the final decision lies with the judges, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and newcomer, Kara DioGuardi.

“Ryan Seacrest announced that, of the 24 million votes cast, Anoop Desai and Michael Sarver were separated by a mere 20,000 votes. According to the new rules, the next highest vote receiver gets an automatic berth in the American Idol Wild Card Round. It looks like it just might be the smooth-voiced Desai.

But the Wild Card Round will be structured a bit differently from the other three elimination rounds as well. After the three contenders from Rounds 1 – 3 get their automatic berths, nine others must be chosen to complete the Wild Card 12 that will literally be given a second chance to become the next American Idol. The judges will do the choosing for those nine slots. American Idol viewers will just have to sit back and enjoy the show as the 12 nearly-made-its get one more chance, because the judges will choose finalists 10, 11, and 12 as well.”

American Idol fans can tune in to watch the final round as the last 9 are voted into the top 12 before the wildcard round tonight at 8pm EST on CTV.
