19-2Bravo has ordered an English remake of the French-Canadian series 19-2.

The scripted series will consist of ten on-hour episodes that will be shot in Quebec this fall for an early 2014 broadcast.

Bruce Smith (DURHAM COUNTY) acts as showrunner with Jesse Mckeown(DAVINCI’S INQUEST, ROGUE) serving as co-executive producer. With an average audience of 1.4 million viewers, 19-2 was a monster hit in Quebec, where the series premiered in 2011 and consistently won its timeslot in the A25-54 demo. Continue reading »

The Vancouver chef defeated Jonathan Goodyear and Danny Smiles in eth final challenge of the Food Network Canada series.

Stowe takes home a grand prize of $100,000, a kitchen package worth $30,000 and a custom installation worth $25,000.

game-of-thrones-dThe showrunners of Game of Thrones have discussed the future of the series following its third season conclusion over the weekend.

The season ended roughly two-thirds of the way through George R.R. Martin’s third novel ‘A Storm of Swords’ and with the fourth novel ‘A Feast for Crows’ considered the weakest of the lot, questions have been raised regarding content for the fourth season.

“I don’t think we want to answer specifically what we’re keeping and dropping, but we do take your point,” said writer/executive producer David Benioff when asked by Entertainment Weekly about book four′s content. Continue reading »

The Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics gold medallist gained a whole new following after he accepted a pitcher of beer from a stranger on the streets of Whistler and started chugging.

“There will be no unfortunate beer product placement during The Amazing Race Canada,” Montgomery joked at the Bell Media Upfront presentation this week.

CTV announced their acquisitions today at their Upfront presentation in Toronto, placing emphasis on the fact they “strategically” selected only four new dramas, two new comedies and one new unscripted series for primetime this fall.

CTV has announced MasterChef Canada will be the 42nd local production of the iconic culinary format, with production set to commence this fall.

Ordered for a winter 2014 debut, CTV has commissioned Proper Television to produce the series in Canada, with production to begin this fall.

The new commission was brokered with CTV by Tania Jacobson, Senior Vice President of Sales for Canada at Shine International, the worldwide distributor of MasterChef. Shine America’s Paul Franklin will serve as a Creative Consultant. Continue reading »

The talented Canadian actress told ET that when she first read the script for the season one finale, she cried.

“Well, I was sad. We didn’t know if we were coming back, so I think I cried at the end of our read-through because there was a chance I would never play these characters again,” Maslany said.

“But, I was excited that they went so bold with it. I feel like the piece stands on its own. I don’t think it feels like a finale. It has enough of that cliffhanger thing, but you don’t feel alienated. It’s not all bells and whistles and no heart.” Continue reading »
