Much to West Virginia’s Sen. Joe Manchin’s chagrin, taking over Jersey Shore’s Thursday night slot is the much-talked about and controversial series, Buckwild (Jan. 3), which follows nine, wild youths through the hills of West Virginia.

Immediately following Buckwild, viewers can keep riding the crazy train from West Virginia to Northern Ontario to witness three Canadian teens living on the edge, literally, in MTV Canada’s all-new Original Series, Careless Teens (Jan. 3).

Then, from reckless youth to ruthless go-getters, MTV shines a spotlight on a group of ambitious friends from the gritty N.Y.C. neighbourhood of Washington Heights (Jan. 9). Continue reading »

Viewers don’t try this at home! Canada’s MTV gets into some risky business with its all-new Original Series, Careless Teens, premiering Thursday, Jan. 3 at 11 p.m. ET.

This adrenaline-fueled, eight-episode series follows three fearless teens from Shelburne, Ontario – and their friends – risking lives and limbs in a series of jaw-dropping stunts, all captured from their own home video cameras.

This November, MTV is taking viewers on a wild ride through the young amazing lives of voyeurs, activists and…err…smooshers.

From the producers of the acclaimed documentary film, Catfish comes a new MTV series, Catfish: The TV Show (Nov. 13), following the lives of couples who’ve interacted solely through their computer screens.

Later in the month, famous media pundit, author, and sex columnist Dan Savage and his partner Terry Miller, introduce viewers to three teens who talk about the obstacles they face in being open about their sexuality in It Gets Better 2 (Nov. 21). Continue reading »

MTV today announced the final five nominees vying for the Worldwide Act distinction at the “2012 MTV EMA.”

For the past six weeks, MTV has given fans around the world a chance to vote for their favorite hometown artists, all to help that local act secure the nomination and earn a chance to represent their respective region at this year’s EMA.

More than 160 artists from every corner of the world have enjoyed the MTV EMA spotlight as part of the Worldwide Act voting competition, and now the final five Worldwide Act nominees are: Dima Bilan (Europe); Han Geng (Asia Pacific); Ahmed Soultan (Africa/India/Middle East); Rihanna (North America); and Restart (Latin America). Starting today, these five artists will go head to head in one last round of voting in the Worldwide Act category, which celebrates the range and breadth of all the music that MTV has to offer across the globe. MTV is pumping out all-things Jersey Shore in anticipation of the final season of the hit series, premiering Thursday, Oct. 4 at 10 p.m. ET with two, back-to-back episodes.

Airing immediately before the premiere, at 8 p.m. ET, fans can suit up for a wet and wild ride with the must-see spoof film, Jersey Shore Shark Attack.
