Stephanie La Rochelle

17-year-old grad Stephanie is looking forward to a career in the arts, and was recently accepted to Sheridan College’s performing arts program.

She began to take formal vocal lessons at the age of five, and has trained in a variety of singing and dancing studios.

Stephanie credits her singing talent to her father, and the first professional stage production Stephanie ever saw was Mamma Mia in Ottawa when she was nine. Stephanie knew she wanted to work professionally in the arts when she accompanied her cousin on ‘Take Your Kid to Work Day’ and realized she didn’t want to spend her life working in an office! Cassandra is a 17-year-old graduate from Beal’s Musical Theatre Program, and calls London, Ontario home. She says she got her start on stage when she saw other kids doing Thumbelina at The Theatre School. She wanted to join and eventually landed the lead role.

At the age of nine, Cassandra won a local London Idol singing competition and she looks up to Bernadette Peters, Kristen Chenoweth, Patti LuPone and Barbra Streisand. Continue reading »

Born and raised in Coquitlam, British Columbia, 16-year-old Jennifer is looking forward to a career in musical theatre. She has been preparing to do so by spending the last nine years studying with the Lindbjerg Academy of Performing Arts.

Her father used to be in a rock and roll band, and her mother was a figure skater. She has an identical twin sister, as well as a sister three years younger than her.

The first stage production Jennifer ever saw was The Sound of Music, and she landed her first lead role in the third grade, performing in Dear Edwina. Continue reading »

16-year-old Julia moved to Unionville, Ontario when she was 3, and still has one more year to go before graduating high school.

As part of the Unionville Theatre Company, she has performed in productions of Peter Pan, Willy Wonka, Cats and Fame.

Julia says her sister Isabelle, who was born deaf in both ears, is her biggest inspiration. Continue reading »

Colleen is a 19-year-old prairie girl born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She’s just finished her first year at the University of Manitoba, where she hopes to finish a Bachelor of Music degree.

Colleen loves all variety of dance, and is an accomplished highland dancer. The first stage production she ever saw was The Lion King, where she got a chance to go backstage and meet the cast! Continue reading »

While AJ was born in Calgary, Alberta, the 18-year-old currently calls Kitchener home.

She just graduated from high school, and is looking forward to attending the musical theatre program at Sheridan College. AJ, which stands for Amanda Jeannette, has taken a variety of vocal training classes as well as training with a pop choir.

The first stage production she ever saw was Les Miserables and says it’s her favourite musical of all time. Her biggest role model is her vocal teacher Amanda Kind, but AJ also looks up to Jennifer Hudson. Continue reading »

Michelle just turned 21 and is from from picturesque Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

A recent graduate of Oakville’s Sheridan College, Michelle has just finished performing in Rent in downtown Toronto’s Panasonic Theatre.

Michelle has been singing for her entire life – largely because both of her parents are vocal instructors! She loves singing old jazz standards, and sings because she says there’s no better feeling in the world. Continue reading »
