Soap star Aiden Turner is the latest celebrity to get the boot from Dancing With The Stars following a poor performance.

Turner and his professional partner Edyta Sliwinska bowed out of the competition despite calls from many fans to see reality mom Kate Gosselin shown the door.

The All My Children star came in at second-to-last place on Monday’s performance show for his rumba. The judges were critical, saying it “lacked musicality and flow”.

“It was like stop-motion animation,” judge Bruno Tonioli said of Turner’s dancing.

The low judge’s scores coupled with viewers votes were enough to send the soap actor home.

Aiden Turner and his partner are the third pair to be eliminated from the show, following Shannen Doherty and Buzz Aldrin in previous weeks.

Just days after the premiere episode screened on HBO in the US, the network has announced they are renewing drama Treme for a second season.

The show takes place in post-Katrina New Orleans, where ordinary New Orleanians try to rebuild their lives, their homes and their unique culture in the aftermath of the 2005 hurricane.

Treme (pronounced “treh-MAY’) boasts a cast which features John Goodman, Khandi Alexander (CSI: Miami), Wendell Pierce (The Wire) and Melissa Leo (Frozen River).

Michael Lombardo, president of HBO Programming, said, “I can’t think of another show that is more emblematic of what we aspire to be as a network than Treme. In the tradition of The Wire David Simon and Eric Overmeyer have embarked on an exploration of the soul of one of the world’s most unique cities through the lives of an exquisitely crafted cast of characters.”

Treme pulled 1.4 million viewers for its debut episode last Sunday.

One Tree Hill’s Sophia Bush will appear in the pilot episode of new ABC show Southern Discomfort.

The 27-year-old, best know for her work as Brooke Davis in the CW series, will appear alongside Don Johnson and Mary Steenbergen in the new family comedy.

Bush is due to play the overachieving daughter of Johnson and Steenbergen’s characters in the show which centres on a father whose life is “turned upside down when his grown kids move back in with him.”

However, If One Tree Hill gets picked up for another season, Southern Comfort may be without Bush due to contractual reasons.
