Animal Planet’s Fatal Attractions returns for a third season with six all-new episodes featuring people united by a deadly obsession – they are compelled to live with beasts that could easily kill them, including wild cats, chimps, venomous snakes and alligators.

Premiering Thursday, June 14 at 8 p.m. ET/9 p.m. PT, each hour-long episode tackles several cases of exotic pet ownership, with each situation carefully reenacted, scrutinized and questioned.

Owners unhesitatingly share their experiences with exotic pets and offer explanations as to why their love for these deadly animals is worth the risk.

FATAL ATTRACTIONS goes inside the minds of people who have venomous reptiles, deadly big cats and chimpanzees. These owners believe they can develop unconditional, loving relationships with exotic animals – which most people wouldn’t get near…even with a chain-link fence!

In fact, exotic pet ownership is not as rare as viewers might think – or as wildlife experts would wish. Millions of exotic animals are brought to North America in any given year and a significant number of these pets have the potential to severely injure or kill their owners, neighbours or family.

This season, Sea Shepherd faces a multitude of tribulations, including a damaged rudder on Steve Irwin, an inexperienced helicopter pilot brought in to replace veteran Chris Aultman, potential crew tension with the return of Peter Brown, a new captain for Brigitte Bardot, the most extreme weather conditions ever seen in the WHALE WARS saga and more.

MEET THE SLOTHS

Sunday, May 13 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT

In a sleepy corner of Costa Rica there is a very peculiar but extraordinary sanctuary. This is the only sanctuary in the world devoted to saving orphaned and injured sloths, and is home to over 160 of them, some of whom have become an internet sensation. It’s an upside-down world where the secrets of one of nature’s most enigmatic creatures are explored. It reveals a surprising soap opera of love, loss and lust, with more than a twist of humour, and shows that a sloth’s life is more than just slothful. For example, super cute and inseparable twins, Violet and Sebastian, are just three-months-old and struggling to survive. The pair developed a skin disorder and need to be shaved and put into special sloth pajamas – made from sports socks – to treat their condition.

With one ship (The Farley Mowat) too slow to chase down the whaling fleet and the second ship (The Robert Hunter) unsuited for Antarctic ice conditions – and with no country supporting their efforts to enforce international law – the situation becomes increasingly desperate in this real-life David-vs.-Goliath adventure.

WHALE WARS: VIKING SHORES (5×60)

Wednesday, May 2 at 9 p.m. ET/10 p.m. PT

The Faroe Islands are a self-governing Danish Territory of 50,000 people – descendants of Vikings and bound by proud tradition. They have fished these waters for thousands of years. But there is a dark shadow over this beautiful land. Every year, Faroese people gather to herd pilot whales to their shallow shores to be killed for their meat, which is a food source. WHALE WARS: VIKING SHORES, a new five-part series, documents Operation Ferocious Islands, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s whale defense campaign as they set sail to end this ancient tradition known as “The Grind” – Faroese for “whale drive” – that takes place every summer
