Rob Thomas is working on Tempest for the CW which centers on a young woman living in a utopian spaceship who, when she finds out the ship is secretly powered by slaves, becomes enmeshed romantically and politically in the dangerous rebellion brewing below the decks.

FOX has given a script commitment to an untitled drama which is described as a family saga about class, power, and the price of ambition.

SyFy has acquired a 13 part Van Helsing series.

TBS has given a series order pickup to Search Party, a dark comedy about a group of four self-absorbed 20-somethings who come together when a former college acquaintance mysteriously disappears.

FOX has given a pilot commitment to a remake of The Greatest American Hero.

CBS will debut a new Star Trek series in January 2017.

Netflix has renewed Longmire for a fifth season.

FOX has bought an untitled comedy which centers on an African-American ex-NFL player with an old-school take on parenthood who quickly marries his white Bohemian psychologist girlfriend and is forced to adjust to domestic life with her and her entitled, difficult children.

AMC have renewed The Walking Dead for a seventh season along with another season of the companion series The Talking Dead.

ABC has bought a comedy loosely based on writer Spencer Porter’s personal life and relationship with his wife and her family.

CBS is developing an untitled spy couple drama from the writers of Extant.

Marisa Coughlan and Jim Parsons are working on an untitled comedy for CBS which is based on the life of writer and columnist Alyssa Shelasky, author of Apron Anxiety: My Messy Affairs In And Out Of The Kitchen. The series centers on an optimistic and independent woman nearing 40 with an eccentric and supportive family (all of whom live in her building) and decides to become a single mother and in the process learns that sometimes raising a child takes a village.

Ash vs Evil Dead has been renewed for a second season.

The Leeches centers on Jess, a young woman who, in an act of desperation to separate herself from her Pittsburgh family and be labeled a “success,” steals her mom’s idea and lands on a home shopping channel with an instant top seller. Caught in the act and her new-found success threatened, Jess is forced to make her nurturing, but no-nonsense mom, Joan, a partner and subsequently go into business with the family she was so desperately trying to escape.
