FOX has bought The 808 (named after the Hawaii area code) which is described as a provocative look beyond the idyllic Hawaii postcard into a world of sex, sand and sin; a sexy soap set against the backdrop of Maui surf culture, which centers on two feuding families.

Travel Channel has greenlit a number of new shows. Could I Live There? follows the lives of professionals and their families as they face a tremendous opportunity to relocate to a new city thousands of miles away.

I Adventure (working title) hands the camera to celebrities who travel around the world to take viewers on an intimate adventure of discovery and exploration on a variety of subjects including the marvels of space exploration with Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men), the rebirth of Motor City with Terry Crews (Everybody Hates Chris) and the intrigue of World War II espionage with Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family).

Meter’s Running (working title) looks at taxi drivers and discovers the streets behind Main Street, the off-the-grid dives and the fun only insiders know how to find.

NBC is adapting Dan Zevin’s book The Day I Turned Uncool: Confessions Of A Reluctant Grown-Up which follows a group of five best friends who’ve crossed the line from Beer to Wine and realize they’re officially uncool.

Netflix has ordered its first Italian series. Suburra is described as a dark and gripping organised crime series set on the Roman coast.

ABC has given a script commitment to The Next Chapter, a comedy that centers on top-selling romance novelist Ben Diamond, who goes through a divorce and not only begins to question his belief in love, but must also learn to date again and live on his own — all while dealing with the pressures of his public persona as the world’s most foremost “expert” on love.
