CTV unveils Primetime schedule led by Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

marvels-agents-s-h-i-e-l-dMarvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will lead the CTV’s new season schedule alongside The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife.

CTV announced their acquisitions today at their Upfront presentation in Toronto, placing emphasis on the fact they “strategically” selected only four new dramas, two new comedies and one new unscripted series for primetime this fall.

The network will have the least amount of new programs compared to any other Canadian network this fall.

Here are the details from the press release:

CTV delivers an all-new Tuesday night lineup starting with this season’s most buzzed-about program, MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. at 8 p.m., followed by two of the season’s most-talked about new comedies THE GOLDBERGS (9 p.m.) and TROPHY WIFE (9:30 p.m.).

• Tuesdays are capped off by the addition of gripping Top 20 drama PERSON OF INTEREST at 10 p.m. This past season’s fastest-growing sophomore drama, PERSON OF INTEREST increased 11% in 2012/13.*

• Mondays kick-off the week with the addition of short-order event dramas HOSTAGES (fall) and INTELLIGENCE (mid-season). Two series, one timeslot, no repeats, making Mondays at 10 p.m. a destination all-year-long on CTV.

• CTV’s current strength in comedy expands with an additional four hilarious new mid-season series, including: Kirstie Alley in her new self-titled comedy, KIRSTIE; MIXOLOGY, a serialized comedy series from the writers of The Hangover; multi-cam office comedy SPUN OUT, featuring Dave Foley; and family comedy SURVIVING JACK, starring Christopher Meloni.

• CTV replicates the success of ARROW Wednesdays at 7 p.m. with paranormal drama THE TOMORROW PEOPLE. WithARROW now set to immediately follow at 8 p.m., Wednesdays are now action-packed, back-to-back, with hot lead cousins Robbie and Stephen Amell.

• Thursdays at 10 p.m. becomes home to the next great Canadian scripted series as high-octane police drama PLAYEDlands in the prestigious post-GREY’S ANATOMYtimeslot, previously home to both ratings winners FLASHPOINT and MOTIVE.

• From J.J. Abrams, mystical drama BELIEVEjoins the CTV mid-season schedule Sundays at 9 p.m.

• CTV strengthens its afternoon lineup with previously announced talk shows THE SOCIAL (1 p.m.) and BETHENNY (2 p.m.).

• CTV also shuffles its late-night schedule with the addition of LATE NIGHT – with Jimmy Fallon in fall and Seth Myers in the winter- following THE DAILY SHOW, and leading into CONAN.

• And coming in 2014, MASTERCHEF CANADA, a Canadian version of the world’s #1 culinary television format.
